Thought this was a decent offer for those with younger kids or those with autistic kids since schools & lea's are usually very good with permission for term time absence for them & their siblings. My bil / sil are taking my nephew who was recently diagnosed with autism as a kind of trial run to see how he'd cope with the Butlin's experience & at just £21 if it goes wrong they haven't wasted a huge amount of money.

Butlin's, Bognor Regis is perfectly located on the beach at this small, pretty, easygoing, accessible resort (only an hour and a half hour from Central London), which just happens to be Britain's sunniest location!

Unfortunately I've been to this butlins at least 3 times in 40 years, some never learn & mostly after a supposed refurbishment. The last time was admittedly about 18 years ago. We decided to eat on site for one night. Everyone in the restaurant was left waiting over 70 minutes just for their starters to arrive by the time the main course turned up many had given up and taken sleeping kids home. There was no apology, no offer to reduce the bill and when I said I would pay what I felt the meal was worth 50% (and believe me it was bad) and leave my address as the law required, everyone then said the same. I was told they would call security and kick us all off site that instant and wouldn't be allowed to continue our stay.
Never going back, not even if they paid me.

3 times in 40 years and you feel you can pass judgement now based on that? Sure bet it might have been run down in 1976
I however have been 3 times in the last 2 years - and cannot recommend it enough. Kids always kept busy and good entertainment. Bognor is literally on the beachfront. :sunglasses:

They must be doing something right as people still go in droves. Took kids about 5 years ago between Christmas and New Year. Kids enjoyed it. Think a day pass has its advantages as you get to experience what's on offer before forking out a small mortgage. Think there might be an evening entertainment restriction though.
Pool is great, but lots of places have slide and wave machines now. It also gets packed. We left the queue to get in twice! I also know they have built more hotels on site since so guessing the pool is never empty. Annoyed me to think that I'd paid so much to stay on site but had to compete with day trippers.
I'd advise people to get there early and pack a picnic. Plenty of food there but not cheap.

Butlins is horrendous. Why people still go there on holiday amazes me.

We go on £8,000+ Caribbean all-inc holidays, £5,000 Mediterranean 5* all-incs AND Butlins (and Haven) UK breaks. Plus, hotels and lodges in places such as St Ives. Variety is the key, plus not having to fly/travel and the pleasure and convenience of having your car to take day trips out whilst on location. Butlins family of four in peak times(Jul/Aug) £1k.

Can't comment on the children's holidays or these day trips, but the adult weekends (Fri-Mon) are superb. Far exceeded my expectations with good quality accommodation (clean, modern) and lovely grounds and layout. I have been to two in the last 12 months, one at Bognor and one at Minehead, plus those I know who have visited Skeggy have said that is probably the best location of the lot. The Adult Weekends (i.e. 80's, 90's, etc.) - highly recommended!

I went here Feb last year with low expectations and was actually very impressed. The apartments are basic but clean, the entertainment excellent and the pool was fun but busy I agree. They do recommend going early in the morning to beat the crowds, we didn't so expected to queue for the rides and it wasn't too bad. If I were to go again I would buy the queue jumping wrist bands as some people queue very early for the evening entertainment and then do the annoying thing where they put bags and coats over spare chairs to reserve them for friends and family leaving nothing for other people!
To give you an idea of price we paid £250 for 3 nights (Fri-Mon) at the end of Feb half term, this was for 3of us. I think it was cheaper as I booked the Oct before but I also managed to pay the full amount using Tesco clubcard vouchers so worked out really well for us!
After being really impressed with Butlins for a cheap weekend away we thought we would try Pontins this year - NEVER again!

Now this is a prime example of someone who just wants to argue.
I voiced my opinion, which may not be to everyone's liking however to accuse me of being ignorant and having no knowledge is absolutely ridiculous!
You don't know me, you don't know my travelling or holiday history.
For your information I'm very well travelled abroad and in the UK including the likes of Butlins and In my opinion Butlins breaks are awful.
