I've been watching these dates for a while and this is the best deal that I have seen. The Euros are on June 10th - July 10th so good for watching the football in bars. Just watch England play Russia in London on the Saturday night then fly out Sunday.

Great price. Just popped in to say Santander look to be offering some current account members 8% cashback on visa debit purchases at Qatar (offer bottom right of the santander banking screen). Since this is direct to bank account, you'd be able to stack this in addition to the 2% currently at Quidco.
Earn 8% Cash Back on your next booking with Qatar Airways. Fly to over 150 destinations worldwide, for exclusive fares book now at http://www.qatarairways.com. It's unwise to fight anyone as the outcome of the fight can't be predicted, it will be one of these though, so take your pick.
1. Fight and win and leave safely
2. Fight and lose and end up getting seriously killed
3. Fight and win and get put in prison
4. Fight and win and kill some one and end up in prison longer
5. Fight and lose and still end up in prison
I'm sure there's more examples.
Fights I've had include the following:
1. I technically won
2. I lost but sought revenge using a weapon
3. I won but other people ganged up on me later
4. I won but people still thought I was a dick****
5. I verbally had to win a fight
Fighting is not like in the movies and simple, it's complicated and even if you're a seriously good fighter you can easily come unstuck.
The problem with being human is that the primitive part of your brain takes over, which is 'my mum has been kicked in the head, I'm outnumbered but that has really annoyed me so I'm going to fight anyway.' The fight or flight part of the human brain the amygdala is designed to react much quicker than your rational brain the cerebellum, so you need a good deal of training to contain it, which hardly anyway does. Bargain, especially with Qatar. Spend a few days in BK then maybe check out Chiang Mai / Chiang Rai for your fill of elephants and tigers. Then I'd head down to the islands, Phi Phi, Samui, Tao. If theres any spare days, maybe pop over to Ho Chi Minh to experience the madness!

Yea I was thinking similar plans for my trip, an awesome plan.
I booked my flight 2 weeks back with another airline as I was a bit impatient, but if i knew this Qatar deal was coming, especially with reasonable flight times and only 14 hours total each way, I could have saved £130 and definitely would have waited.

Just booked 29th May - 16th June earlier with Qatar for £332.50 would have gone for longer but that's only time I could get off work. So it's safe to say this deal isn't limited on dates.

Only a little over 2 weeks but you will have an amazing time, deffo worth it

If you have a spare few days, I can't explain how amazing Angkor Wat is! Return flights to Siem Reap (Cambodia) are around £80, then accommodation is single digit dollars. A must visit!

Yea well this kind of thing happens every Saturday night in the UK, probably one occurrence in every town in England.
So it's not just Thailand but I understand what you mean, there are other reports of trouble. So you need to make sure you say out of any conflict and particularly getting into a heated argument with the Thai's, they are not to be messed with, especially the women and can be very very sensitive.

Never get into an argument in Thailand. You'll soon find yourself up against a gang of people. It's all about saving face. If something annoys you, just bite your lip and let it go!

I've never been to Thailand, but a tip I've read about going there is to be prepared for an almost inevitable stomach bug (apparently people from Asia get the exact same problem when they visit Europe). The advice is to get the name & address of a good medical clinic in advance, so that when you catch it you can go in and pick up some antibiotics, which will cure the bug in a couple of days - better than spending two weeks filling the hotel toilet. Raspeberry cordial is recommended too.

Oh, and never hire jet skis or motorcycles from backstreet or beachfront shops, charging victims for "damage" or stealing their own bikes back and charging the customer are common scams.
And don't bother with the normal Thai police, instead look up the phone number of the Thai "tourism police" who will actually look after tourists; from what I've read, a normal Thai police officer will not help you and many of them are part of the same gangs robbing the tourists.

Its not so bad, i've been before in June/July and there is still plenty of sun to be had.
The off-peak season is regarded with many as the best time to go. There is less crowds and accommodation is far cheaper. I'd rather book accommodation as I go and during off peak you can often pretty much just turn up and get somewhere good, the peak season is a different story though.

Went to Thailand last year for about 10 days, with the firm intention of not eating from food cart on the street etc. My cousin who was traveling with me told me that it would be ok. We ate Thai every single day, most of the time with food sold on the street, did not get any sickness, diarrhea at all. TBH i was surprised because i was really expecting it at some stage. So I guess some people are more susceptible than others. All I can say is that the food was gorgeous, cheap and very tasty

Yea the street food is often he freshest that there is, also the stalls usually have very good cleaning utensils too. Just make sure the meat that you have has been in front of you so you know its not been sat there for hours in the heat.

Ok no worries. Yea I have been I was there in June, July & August so I have an idea what its like. However I remember September/October being crazy with rain, that was monsoon, like every other day.
Got back from a two week trip to Thailand this week and had the time of my life and can't wait to go back. Shame I don't have many holidays left to take advantage of this deal.
Flights from manchester and levy of other dates, personally I'd pay the extra too fly with Emirates the extra room in the a380's is a godsend on them flights and they have a more generous baggage allowance. 11 June Thailand here I come for a nice bit of quality fishing :sunglasses:

Hi I was planning on going to Thailand beginning of dec, never been before... is it best to try and book a flight now or wait till nearer the time ...any recommendations for airlines?
Thanks jane

29 Apr 16#56
They say the best time to book your ticket is 6-8 weeks before so I would wait to nearer the time.
I was looking to go to Thailand anyway but I am very flexible of when I can go. As I love football, I just timed it so it adds that something extra to the evenings.
Of course if its just for the football, i'd try and get a ticket for France or just watch it at home or in a bar here.
