There's a world of difference between Tamagochi's and Tomodachi Life, and Tomodachi Life isn't even a new game at all.

I bought one at this price Game instore. Sadly some games like Mario 3D Land just don't look as pretty in 2D and negotiating jumps is harder as no sense of depth.

You're actually wrong on that one as they are very comfortable to hold. I had a 'new' 3DS and that cramped my hands after 30 mins of play. The 2DS has never cramped my hands at all even after hours of play.
