They're all from the same place. People who were at Fairchild started Intel and AMD, someone left AMD and started Nvidia. It is not like the rest of the world where companies hide their secrets. Employees at all firms used to talk to each other about issues with chips at Walker's Wagon Wheel. I guess they still do nowadays.

ROTTR is an NVIDIA game, as Hitman and Ashes of the Singularity are AMD games. They are developed/optimized more for the sponsored hardware. It does make sense. That's why GameWorks exists. Why else would they pay developers and help them out in development and develop features for their own GPU's? To sell more GPU's.
This is what I keep talking about. If Async Compute is the saving grace, AMD needs to sponsor more games to push it's use. In DX11 titles, GameWorks is dominating the AAA space. If AMD can turn this around in the future for DX12, that's good, but it requires money.

So, when AMD struggle in a game, it's NVIDIA's fault. But when AMD squeak out one benchmark that shows it even remotely ok light, you post it on every AMD/NVIDIA deal for weeks.
What about all of the issues on Linux for games that don't have Gameworks, like CS:GO?
At some point, you surely have to accept that AMD doesn't have the same driver support as NVIDIA, gameworks or not.

Errr... because they don't have async compute in hardware. Didn't you know that?
But AMD have access to all the Linux code that Nvidia do. So why are AMD so utterly behind in over 2,000 games?
Not just a little behind, but with Nvidia's £70 750 beating out AMD's £400 Fury.
So for anyone wanting a Steam Machine, or even just the option of SteamOS in future, AMD is not an option. That's over 2,000 games where Nvidia doesn't just eke ahead (as AMD does in three games), but has double or more of the performance of equivalent AMD hardware.
But why? AMD have had ten years to knock out a decent Linux driver. What is it that evil Nvidia is doing to stop the noble and valiant AMD from supporting fans of open source?
(Can we have some Nvidia fanboys weigh in with some absolutely ludicrous statements, please? It would be nice to correct someone from the other team for once.)

Don't delude yourself from benchmarks from a single game. Nvidia is a greedy company who don't share any of their software and work closely with lots of developers, letting them use their gameworks and other software whereas AMD are not allowed access to this which makes optimization very hard for them.
Dont get me wrong AMD is by far the superior and less greedy company, but this won't translate into in game performance.

Don't do it, they've been this price for nearly 18 months and we're right on the cusp of all the new tech. Switch to your iGPU and replay some retro classics, or go fishing for a couple of months, or drive around Australia's coast (perfect climate for it right now). Seriously, how many games coming out this year are dx12? Hardly any. Don't get me wrong, the AMD gains are impressive but you are totally cherrry picking. Dx12 is hardly relevant at the moment and there is no such thing as future proofing in it. Learn the lesson yourself if you really need too. In the meantime, enjoy the performance of this card, choose the dx11 render path if you are that bothered.
Buy what you need to run the games you want to play now. Otherwise just wait for next gen.
Also, you are spreading misinformation about power efficiency. Maxwell is more effcient. Virtually every review I think I've ever read will show that under load.

That's your fault for buying a bad aftermarket board same goes with nvidia cards. Go with sapphire tri-X as they have always done alright by me. You say that amd is junk but maxwell cards are really half a gpu with missing features stripped.
That's why it's so much more efficient but they rig that by under clocking it and then makes it look better because it over clocks and then the efficiency has gone out the window anyway. Clever marketing trick.

I have the 970'ans it's excellent. It effortlessly maxes most games out at 3840x2160 or 2750 x 2048. I tried the beta of the division and wasn't impressed. It easily maxed out at 3840x2160 and the graphics are some way behind Witcher 3 and metal gear 5. Gameplay was repetitive and boring. But many people these days seem to prefer that kind of shooter to ones with a proper story. Basically this game is bobbing up and down from behind a wall and shooting. AI was awful and NPC would withstand barrages of headshots.

ComputerBase are one of the most reputable review sites. Very thorough tests, good methodologies, large range of card tested. Good investigation of clock rates during gaming runs so cards which boost like crazy when cool but then drop back don't fool short benchmark runs.
Far better than most any English language site. In fact, a lot of English language sites are poor at benchmarking and testing, so I am glad to have sites like Computerbase.de. Hardware.fr is another excellent sites with great reviews including excellent infra-red imagery of graphic cards (especially important for determining if for example the VRMs on a given card get properly cooled).

Nvidia has already dropped full support for 700 series and amd is still fully supporting the 7000 series.
Performance is already being nerfed on the 970 and 980 go look at need for speed dx11.

Cold for all the above. There was a 970 listed for £200 on black friday 2014 for crying out loud.

Buy what you need to run the games you want to play now. Otherwise just wait for next gen.
Also, you are spreading misinformation about power efficiency. Maxwell is more effcient. Virtually every review I think I've ever read will show that under load.
Atleast he didn't lose any frames I guess lol
Already benched dx12 and it's true my fury is gaining massively and my m8 had his 980ti lose 2fps.
People on steam are losing 10-20fps on dx12 with 970 but how true that is I don't know as that could be amd fanboys bs.
980ti does lose 2fps and amd gains confirmed
Get the shop to take it back and get a replacement. Which one did u get exactly ?
That's why it's so much more efficient but they rig that by under clocking it and then makes it look better because it over clocks and then the efficiency has gone out the window anyway. Clever marketing trick.
Sorry for the spat earlier as I don't come here to argue so I will apologise
Buts that is only based on experience and nothing else.
I am trying to get Amazon to price match the better dual fan version of this card but they are only offering my free next day delivery at the mo.
What about GoW? Does that game not exist?
The 290X 8GB was the best GPU to buy at the time by a long shot seeing how the 390X is doing.
Silly
I don't get why your so angry as you have a amd card because you can't afford a nvidia card and you just got a massive performance boost and extra life for dx12 and your still not happy?
Think about it as that's messed up :smirk:

Picking silly things on a touch screen.
I can taste your salty tears from your eyes lol
Get the 970 where is your proof that amd async is better?
I'm trying to save them money you said lol
Well well done as you have made them buy redundant none lasting cards. This is what inexperience brings and you listen to clever marketing.
You have been taken for a complete fool as your not experienced yet.
You will learn the hard way for sure.
Don't have brand loyalty and you will say I'm a amd fan boy but that's simply not true as I have had nvidia cards in the past but the last 4 years nvidia have turned into a greedy bunch of robbing g1ts.
Your eyes will be opened and you will see.
Then amd will turn into the scum bags of they become to to strong and mop up too much market share

390 is the card to get simple
290x was beating the Titian and guess what beats the Titian now a 960 lol
That's disgusting way to treat your customers and the PC community in general. Use to buy nvidia when they weren't [email protected]
I benched marked rise of the tomb raider on dx12 on my fury and my m8 did his 980ti and yeah am I talking bu11sh1t?
Wait for all the dx12 benches as your in for a treat if your a nvidia fan boy which u clearly are as your in denial and damage control.
Seriously amd's gpu kick ass in dx12 as nvidia has no async my m8 lost 2fps in dx12 lmao
I know u bought a amd card and trust me on this one you are going to thank your lucky stars u did.
Go look at the benches and I can confirm its legit as I have ran them.
Nvidia has already dropped full support for 700 series and amd is still fully supporting the 7000 series.
Performance is already being nerfed on the 970 and 980 go look at need for speed dx11.
Any how don't care if u don't believe me as watch all the news and YouTube clips and again I can confirm its real as I have already done them.
If pascal does not have async its dead on arrival.
Deus ex is coming up and again amd is going to smash the 900 series.
Amd cpu are getting a massive boost on the dx12 but I can't confirm that as I have skylake.
Amd is coming back with a bang and I told u this a year ago but you refused to believe and now look, nvidia has no driver or hardware for async and u can't use a driver updat as its hardware so 6 months and we are still waiting for it
Nvidia is Shockley bad at dx12 games. Just benched my fury and my m8 did his 980ti and guess what happens ? Lol
Power efficiency is fake? Got any shred of proof there? Sounds like complete hogwash.
Seems that ComputerBase consider the Titan X such a niche product that for new game benchmarks they often leave it out (not in the Hitman benches, nor the The Division, but it is in their buying tips roundup.
Anyhow don't buy a 900series now as its pointless buy a 390 and save the cash. Best bang for buck card
well, of course you would expect a £1000 GPU to beat a £400 by at least 100% to get a similar price/performance ratio.
also a Titan X gets beaten by an overclocked 980Ti
what's this?
Nvidia is getting slaughtered 390x beats Titan X lol
What are you on about?
Also,
Corrupt Nvidia driver released just a few days ago:

The worse part it will only get worse if it is going to get better. Regardless, this is a hot deal.
Nearly 18 months later, still nearly the same price...
