Found this while looking for a quality psu for my son's new build.
It's Tier 2 on Tom's Hardware and it was previously hot at £31.99.
I never ordered from this supplier and never heard of them. Would be good to know if anyone dealt with them before. XFX + Seasonic for under £30 I'm very tempted but please share your thoughts.

If it was for yourself, the bronze would do perfectly fine. Since you are buying one for your son, go on pamper him and buy a platinum PS.

xfx RMA is awful, took me about 6 months to get a replacement PSU.

one of the 850watt ones, was an expensive one. took about 3 months to accept the responsibility to replace it.
Yes, thanks for sharing. I've seen that one and it is also cheap. I like EVGA and got G2 in one of my builds it's completely different class but 3 times the cost.
Unfortunately this particular model isn't made to the same standard you get form XFX at least according to Tom's Hardware. XFX is a tier 2 psu and should be really well made so it's a bummer that yours gave you problems. It is poor from XFX I admit.

Oh I dunno, it's been weeks now and I'm still waiting for a new motherboard after my H100i leaked all over my system.

Ive recently bought a bog standard build I5 pc with 960 gfx card...looking to swap out the mobo (a better one with Raid controllers etc) and stick in a 970 (or equivelent), and have one ssd and two hds....would this handle it or would I need something with a bigger output?

it is ok, it will not use more than 370w (near to limit if we consider other factors) but I would always suggest to get proper PSU's with the right amount of cabling and maybe a 500/550w at least in case you will eventually change the gpu at any time, an amd equivalent would use an extra 90w

Maybe. You need to put your exact configuration into a psu calculator. This psu only has one PCIE connector and so you would need to find a suitable card for that.

This one only has 1 pci-e power connector so isn't made for such systems even if the draw is within its output range.
Go for one of the basic 500w-600w evga psu's if you're on a budget, they are not much more at all and have plenty of connectors.

they sell rubbish too but I was talking about customer service and quality is on average also related to the amount of money we want to spend. Anyway, that was bad luck I think, the h100i is a good product and if you have requested an rma you can see of fast they are. we got 2x h100 and 2xh110 in the family and they are really great and no leaks at all. I found that the h110 fans do suffer from a little rattling when used from inside to push air out at higher speeds. They sent the latest replacements fans for free without making any sort of arguments at all.

Yeah they weren't that great for me either. I had send the item to somewhere overseas like Norway and then when they replaced the item they sent one that was a lower spec. so I had to return the item again and wait again for them to send me a correct item. It was a lot of hassle.
I don't know if they have changed now though, this was a couple of years ago now.

it is misleading to say that this is sli NVidia certified, only 1 connector, in sli you need 4 to start with and also to be NVidia sli certified needs to be at least a 650w, AMD uses a different criteria. In theory this is not even good for 1 gpu which usually got 2 connectors. Still not that very sure why people insists to suggest that lower power output are good for gaming. They are not designed for that even so in theory can be used for that purpose. With only a very little more there is plenty out there to be used for the right purpose apart from the fact that you get all the right cabling already build for the purpose of what it suppose to be used for. PSU is the most important choice to be made in a system and also the cheapest even so you might buy the most expensive one if you think that will be used on the next and then the next system and so on until it breaks of course, might not if of a good quality. PSU is the only thing that will virtually does not need to be changed when you upgrade system, get the right one then because it will work a lot cheaper at the end

Just an comment for anyone considering ordering this. I've ended up paying £31.99 (Amazon) with next day delivery. It came without the power cord :disappointed: quite a few reviews say the same. 5 minutes on chat with Amazon and had £8 refunded so it worked out only £23.99.
There's no guarantee they'd do the same to you but they haven't changed the description (told them a week or so ago) so potentially Tier 2 psu for £24 if you have your own power lead
