Pretty good deal I think for the unlimited mins and text and 6gb is plenty for the casual user.

Plus £10 quidco and 10% goes to a charity of your choice each month.

They use the EE network so very good coverage.

"Really cheap mobile phone deal... The People’s Operator which uses the EE network - unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, 6GB of 3G data currently £12.95 and is on a rolling contract..."

Martin Lewis

Founder & Editor of MoneySavingExpert.com on Good Morning Britain 10th Feb 2016

It's just £12.49 p/m though, so check it out ;)

There’s been a lot of changes at TPO – and we want you to know that you spoke and we have listened! So we would like to introduce you to our new SIM-Only Goodness Plan. At £12.49 per month for Unlimited mins, Unlimited texts and 6GB of data for, we couldn’t give you more goodness!

Ooooops we lied, because the goodness doesn’t stop there! As you may know 10% of your monthly spend goes to a charity of your choice and it doesn’t cost you a penny extra.

So whether you are a chatterbox, the internet is your best friend or you text up a storm grab yourself some goodness today!

if you read properly it says they pledge to give 10% of "their income" from you to a charity ...... it then gives you the option to choose one you like or support, which is imo fair enough as I prefer certain ones, just like most people. if you don't have opinion of where "their money/donation" should go, they donate it too their chosen ones. Hardly a dictatorship when you are being given an opportunity to have input and control over their donation , infact it's the very opposite of the definition of one! .......

Why do these MVNO's restrict to 3G when they use networks that have 4G? I'm paying EE £15 for 4Gb data and 500mins/Unlimited texts so this is clearly a better deal in terms of allowances.

as per above comment - they are decommissioning these plans - and moving from EE to 3 network. TBH, the new plans on 3 are not that attractive and I am looking to switch.

To update anyone who may still be reading.

I am on this plan, and received an email this evening. They are switching me from 3G to 4G from as early as Mid June (three weeks) and everyone on their network will be switched by the end of July.

The only downside for some, is that they have told me that they are switching networks from EE to Three and that I will need to unlock my phone if it's locked to EE.

Update: Received a further email as they had promised. It looks like I have to choose one of their new plans (which aren't such good value).

Not happy :disappointed:

Had one of these sims about 3 hours and already unimpressed.

Activated sim online about 2 hours ago.. using in an unlocked galaxy s5. It says tpo up the top left when screen locked however can only receive texts. Can't make calls send texts or browse Internet.

Down loaded settings and tried manually but nothing. No g or nothing up by the bars.

Any ideas

I would NOT recommend them! A friend of mine had this exact bundle from last May, in October they have sent him a mail stating that his bundle is going to change to one with 1GB data, 300m call, unlimited text for £15. He missed reading this mail (this part is his fault though) and kept using the data thinking it's still 6GB. As a result of all this he know has a bill for £600...
The worst thing is that customer support was not able to give an explanation about why his bundle got changed in the first place even while the old bundle of his (the one in this deal) was still advertised on their webpage
In all fairness it is in their T&C that they can change the package any time with a 15 day notice, but due to the fact that there was no explanation given, and their customer service was really slow and unhelpful I would recommend everyone to STAY AWAY from this company

I've recently left TPO. Really bad customer service, network down even though EE was OK on mates fone next to me (countless times)! Was told several times over about 18 months that 4G was coming very soon. Phoning customer service is detrimental to your arm, holding the phone up for so long waiting in the queue. I would personally advise to avoid at all costs. Pay a little extra and go elsewhere

Eek. Now it seems to be EE but as soon as it changes, I'm bailing - Three signal is useless.
mikecool
16 Mar 16 #74
*edit: the below is irrelevant if they are moving to Three*

I'm on this deal and confirm it's great. I've had a really good experience overall. Their customer service was slow getting back to my email query but helpful when it arrived. I was on Three before but they moved my price plan up to £25 or so when I had been paying 15 for three years on the discounted 'one plan', posted here a while back.

Signal is much improved to Three. With Three I struggled throughout London to find signal, particularly in West London (zero signal throughout Fulham, despite there even being a Three store in Fulham Broadway station!).

Cons: If you want to use abroad, the process is confusing and loooong. It involves putting a large monetary deposit down (50 or more, I can't remember) and photocopies of proof of addresses and bills. I just couldn't be bothered in the end - I just hope I don't go abroad anytime soon!

Bargain and great deal, at least til an EE deal actually arrives - they are very expensive compared to other networks and only seem to offer decent retention deals to existing customers. This is a 30 day rolling contract, with 30 days notice needed so ideal even as a filler.

I have never had 4g personally. I have an unlimited 3g service with virgin mobile. I don't understand why 4g is even necessary with these stupid low data caps providers dish out these days. You could literally max it out in 15 minutes with one movie if you wanted to.

I used them last year for around 6 months (£15 unlimited everything plan). Terrible customer service. Porting was a pain. Any issues meant holding for 30-45 minutes and then being told it would be passed onto CS who would call you back. And they never did. Then they randomly decided to cut down the data allowance to 15GB with no notice at all. I complained on their facebook page and they still were unable to sort it out. For data you need to manually download settings, then often data transmission would stop. Then you would have to manually reset the settings. Which when you are on the road is a nightmare. They billed me wrong and I had to complains twice to get a refund. All in all a complete nightmare with protracted periods of no internet connectivity despite 4 bars of reception. Currently with EE and I have no issues with the same phone. Make of that what you will. But I would never recommend them.

I asked T-Mobile for my pac code to get TPO or the life mobile deal also with 6gb data (life mobile is on EE and has tethering). Got a call from EE hour later who asked me about the deal I was going to, and offered me 6gb 'double' speed 4G data, unlimited calls and texts, tethering and unlimited calls and texts in Europe, £12.99p/month on a 12 month contract. Worth going through the pac code process - you never know - you might get an acceptable offer to keep you on - i had zero expectation they would even bother but apparently they had so many pax code requests for these deals it's caused a reaction

I have not voted, but I would never touch a deal which TELLS me I am giving money to charity - it should be my choice whether or not I give, just like ebay has an option to tick a box if you want to donate or not.

I'd strongly encourage people not to deal with this company.

I have experienced some terrible customer service over the years, but these guys are a bit dodgy.

They botched the closing of my account, then starting randomly sending me bills over 1 year later pursuing me or a nominal debt that I don't owe to them. These things cause stress and can taint your credit history. I called them and they play on one's jaded memory to make life difficult for you.

Go with a different company.

What? In what possible way is that like a dictatorship? You can choose to buy a product and a proportion of that company's profits are given to a charity. You even get a choice about which charities benefit.

Do you stand at the tills in supermarkets demanding to know how the cashier plans to spend her wages before handing over your card? (Spoiler: The answer should be "No")

6gb on 3g...genuinely is there any point? 2gb is plenty for browsing the internet. With 6gb I'd want to stream the odd song / youtube video. Doing that on 3g is a ball ache.

Stay away from TPO-there is a reason why everyone hates them if you read any reviews. Customer service is ridiculous, network doesn't work... I recently moved away from TPO.
Lack of 3G and 30min hold times (consistently) did it for me.

Also, they will not go through ANY security when you call them up. I requested a PAC code from them for my mother-in-law, I called them from a different phone and they didn't even ask for my name (or hers).

Just openly gave a "stranger" access to her personal details and PAC code.

Be careful.

I used to be with them but left because I wanted 4g. As I understand they are shifting to the 3 network this year to enable them to provide a 4g service. Customer service was always very good to me. Lots of giveaways and random vouchers sent through the post! It's 10% of your net bill not gross which makes a slight difference. Also (I think it's still the case) your nominated charity won't get anything until £50 has been collected, OK if you support a large or popular charity, not quite so good if it's the opposite.
