Sudafed spray gives instant relief from a blocked nose caused by colds and allergies..it is simply such a relief. Never found the tablet form to work very well, so pleased to find it on clearance today in Wilkinsons. Normally £4 and never really see it on offer. It has exactly the same product licence as the regular blue blocked nose spray..so it is the same product, but the blue one is full price. Use sparingly and in accordance with instructions as I know it can complicate issues if taken for an extended time..Same price on website too.

I wouldn't recommend sticking syrup up your nose...

Or buy the superstore own brand for a quid with same active ingredient.

I did that with the wilkos version and its a squeezy plastic bottle which barely squirts or atomises the liquid :disappointed:
Very irritating to the nose having liquid rather than spray propelled up it!

Evil stuff. Works but there's a horrible rebound effect if you use more than the odd time - hence the 'use sparingly' warning above. The inevitable post nasal drip also gives me a bad cough.
Hot as good price for those who find it useful but not for me.

This is so true. I have bunged up nasal passages and have been using these sorts of sprays for a while to get the relief of breathing a little easier through my nose. They work great at first but the effectiveness of the product wears off over a period of time and actually make your condition even worse! I've stopped using them now, and although I still feel bunged up, it feels better than when I was using these sprays. The medical advice is true. Don't use them long term, and if symptoms persist, see a doctor (which I will be doing)

be aware sudafen can cause addiction.

Nasal steroids are worth a go - beclometasone and fluticasone nasal sprays both work for me and both are available over the counter. They take a few days to have a significant effect (so no good for acute things like a cold) but I find they help with congestion due to hay fever or sinus problems.
If you use them for a long time you can get the odd bloody nose.
