Sorry Donkeykonk but voted cold for the use of the word "seminal".
Only joking but did you used to work for the NME in the 80s/90s?

This album and Doolittle by The Pixies are two great albums from 1989.

And DeLaSoul 3 feet High and Rising.
Great year for music, but those three albums pretty much shaped the forthcoming 90's

I was sixteen for most of it, saw The Roses at Ally Pally three weeks after I was 17.
Great days.

I have heard of the band, but never bothered listening to their music, very trippy is it not ?

Yeah you could call it that. I've seen them live was worth seeing them live. I don't follow their work, most of the albums are the same type of thing, but very decent musicianship especially Ed Wynne the guitarist and keyboardist.

Oh yes they have. I still listen to Dissolution (The Clouds Disperse) regularly. And I still laugh maniacally when the wave breaks....

This is still one of, if not the greatest debut album of all time IMO.

You want to decide who is allowed in, and out. And occasionally swing.
That's my analysis.

Oasis are enjoyable but IMO their music is entirely derivative Led Zep / Beatles. The Stone Roses on the other hand IMO, invented a sound. That's much more impressive.
Opening post
Possibly the first of a 27 year trilogy ?...
