Sony Xperia M4 Aqua (2GB RAM / decent camera)
1GB data + 500 mins + 5000 texts + 24 month contract
@ MobilePhones Direct
Seems a decent phone/package for a low price (possibly £96 total with cashback?). I have been looking for a cheap deal as I am a very low user of phones, but occasionally want the bells and whistles to work! Might get this even though I would have to change phone number as already Talkmobile SIM only :(
Forgive me if deal not as good as appears. Long time browser but first time poster on HotUKDeals!

If you can afford an upfront fee: 32GB White S6 @ £162.99 upfront, £402.99 over two years, equiv. £16.79 / month.
Or go via Techradar and mess about with the filters. Set order to Monthly Cost. Other handsets/tariffs available.

Looks good to me, might order one later today unless anyone can give me any other advice...
I currently use a GiffGaff monthly £10 goodybag which is a perfect amount of minutes/text/data for my needs but the battery life on my handset has degraded a lot recently so I thought I may as well take advantage of a new handset on a similar long term contract (seeing that I've been on my 'rolling' contract for over 3 years anyway) so this seems ideal for me.
Unless anyone can recommend any similar deals with a better handset? I don't mind paying a little bit more if it's a decent phone but to be honest I think paying £00's+ for the latest and greatest phone is a mugs game so I think my maximum would be £20/month. I saw a deal for a reburb S6 at £18.50/month which seemed good but it only came with 500mb/month which is a bit borderline to my usage requirements.

Seems hot ,possible misprice cause even the refurb is more expensive ? Might take a punt but need to wait for my current Talkmobile to finish b4 porting my number.

OP, keep your number for £10 - get a giffgaff sim, activate it for £10, port your number in & port it out again to this deal. Yes a hassle, but by no means huge. You can even donate some of the credit to charity.
my m4 suffered the over heating and bending the frame. even though the xperias over heating is all over the internet it was determined to be "too costly of a repair" pay £20 for your phone back or £133 to them for a new phone to replace a 3 week old phone. so be careful!

Mine failed just recently after using it for a month. As everyone says, the storage left over is abysmal (Yes, I have an SD card in it, but until Android allows all apps over to it, you're stuck with trying to clear space).
Now, mine lost reception, no matter where I take it (my old cheap backup one works fine!!). Not sure if as a consequence of the heat it generates, but will be trying to get it swapped out.

Tbh I wouldn't bother with this phone, I've got it and I've not got loads of apps and I'm forever having to use ccleaner to clean before updating apps because there is no space. I've been waiting for marshmallow but even though Sony said it was coming to the M4 aqua nothing has appeared. Good phone crap storage.

I'd have to agree with the comments about the storage, its laughable in todays age where GB's cost pennies. I have just got this having broke my Z3 (No ins) and I'm having the same issues. Pity the storage is so poor as the phone is very good in every other department. If you arn't an App Junkie I' say go for it. I have plenty on mine but i have to be somewhat restrictive with it. Apparently Sony are not going to allow the external SD to be used as an internal memory so I can't see things getting any better. Still, for this price it is very very good. I pay around £15 on the Tesco mobile for a similar deal.

My sincere advice to everyone dont bother with the M4. Its one of the worst phones Ive ever had :-( screen freezes/ failed in the first week. It was hardware failure on a brand new phone. No thanks SONY. Also you will find the phone body/ frame is weak & warps over the short time I had it. Save yourself the stress & just go for the SAMSUNG S7.

Oh yeah. That's only £250 more. Let me just have a rummage down the back of my Harrod's sofa.
Really though not sure how this is a deal for a £240 M4 Aqua when the Z3+ can be had for about £40 more and bought outright, unlocked not on credit like this deal.

It was a deal because it had a decent usage and was potentially only £88

I'd go for a the Vodafone M5 deal posted already, and sim only/PAYG personally.

I bought this a while back. As soon as I turned it on I only had 1.2gb of the 8gb storage usable. Then as soon as I updated the pre-installed apps it left just 400mb free! - all before I had even installed a single app of my own. I did add an sd card but even then it would only allow me to move a few apps onto it, and it wouldn't allow the sd card to be used as the default installation folder. It was swiftly returned.

Phones like m4 really annoy me. Elsewhere one can get a minimum 16gb version. It's only in UK (within europe) that they sell the lower 8gb spec for more money!

Do you have a source? Why would they do this?

good luck, as I said they quoted me £133 for a 3 week old phone. I paid way more than I should of for it but thought it looked nice. Then within 3 weeks it got so hot that it would burn the skin and just constant reboot. If I actually spent the £133 Id have over £300 phone that knowing my luck would over heart again. I still have 23 months to pay on the phone and all sony says to my emails about how they will not hold up their warranty is "please reply to your repair or scrap email".

What's Talkmobile like as a network? Reading up on trustpilot seems like they like continuing to bill you after a contract has ended
DocRobotnik to Al18

That's the same with all contracts. 02 are the same, as we're orange in their day.
You have to remember to cancel after the two years.

Well your contract doesn't end after 24 months... the minimum period ends. The contract becomes just like a one-month rolling contract. After 24 months you need to give notice to cancel or get a PAC and move your number to another provider if you want to end the contract. You won't automatically be put onto a SIM-only plan either.
I am amazed that people enter mobile contracts without knowing these basic things.

dude/dudette I mean geographically in europe, elsewhere you get a 16gb version of this phone, whereas in UK, as compared to rest of the europe, you get the 8gb version.
probably the companies read comments like yours and think to themselves they can get away with giving you low storage version for more ££. :P

not really.... true, the Direct Debit remains on your account unless you cancel it, however the companies like O2 do not bill you after the contract is over.

The point I am making is that the direct debit still remains on the account even when/if you move your number to another contract/provider and there is nothing to stop a malicious/error transaction using that dd.

As far as I know, you have to cancel the direct debit. it's not done automatically. I could do it easily via online banking in the past.

Another option as the price of the M4 has gone up from the original deal.
