Been after a TV for awhile, Decided on the Sony bravia KDLW48W705CBU which is advertised at £449.
Its Full smart HD with 3 HDMI and all the usual all stuff. Plus as it's Sony it has low input lag makes it a great Gaming TV also. its advertised everywhere at 449 including John Lewis.managed to get price match against an online store called PRC direct in store on my phone and beat it by £10 so got a cracking deal at £404.95.there is one-line retailer that offer it at 399 but they won't match as it's 80miles from Nottingham so you may get luckier still.
Oh and this comes with the 6year guarntee :)
You will need to go instore to get price match.
And to the negative cold comments I had below this TV was released in 2014 yes and it is NOT 4K. It is however made by Sony not some budget hisense, digihome etc. as such there is no bleed and great contrast. Its input lag is 14m/s and it has high refresh rate.

I have a Sony android TV I bought just before Xmas, BEST thing I ever bought. I have installed KODI and get virtually every football match in the world live from kick off, every movie you can think of and boxed sets all for zilch a month. TV has been faultless and I wish I had bought one sooner.

Lol at the people charging out to buy crappy cheap 4k panels. Why?
Because: suckers for marketing.
Arguably 4k isn't even worth too much on a relatively small TV such as this if you sit more than 7/8 feet away. Even besides this point, until the day comes where you have like 51 percent of your viewing in 4k or a significant portion, then you're wasting your time with 4K sets especially cheap ones.
They are likely to have naff cheap panels with pish colour representation and average blacks, no support for HDR (no 10 bit panels at this sort of price yet) so they will be obsolete as fast as a 1080p set anyway when HDR 4k content arrives this year. Wonder why there are so many cheap 4k sets? Because they are clearing all the old ones out for HDR capable 2016 models.......
Cheaper 4k sets will also likely look genuinely horrible with SDTV or SD content because poor upscaling, potentially average with 1080i/p content for the same reason. They will almost certainly have poorer response times for gaming, and they will probably have poorer viewing angles than a good 1080p set.
I would bet most people would be better off for many years with a quality 1080p set like this, than a cheap 4k one. What are the HDTVs with the best pictures on sale today? OLEDs. Even 1080p OLEDs beat up expensive 4k LED TVs.
How can that be!!! Surely moar pixels = best right? Obviously not.
Think carefully about what you might use a HDTV for. If it's mostly SDTV, 1080i broadcasts and 1080p gaming, why precisely are you buying a cheap 4k LED set with no HDR support??? It'll surely look inferior to a great 1080p panel for nearly all the time you are using it......by the time 4k content abounds, affordable OLED and 10 bit HDR will have made it obsolete just as fast.

A huge plus of this TV is that it is NOT android.

It may be for you, but some people like it and have lots of apps that they have paid for.
What is wrong with Android on a TV as have not got a smart TV myself?

Please post an example of the 48" 4K TV you can buy at this price, certainly NOT a Sony and please don't compare it to the Panachronic/ Vestel refurbs that are flooding the market, the picture quality of these is inferior to a Sony full HD TV, you only have to go and look at them both side by side in your local Currys.

Probably I'm on mobile and nothing more riles me when people critise a good deal. Its not 4K fine and it was launched 2 years ago but for ***** sake it's a sony for just over 400 with a 6year guarntee I hope these muppets have the Hitachi 4K and I seriously pray it packs up 2years old
