How dare Nintendo put red borders on the new packaging and charge us half the original price. Cold from me.

If you own Super Mario Bros U, but dont own Luigi U, CEX are giving £17.00 for Mario U, sell it and buy the selects copy with both for .95p

Good to know. By not differentiate, CeX lose out either way.
Good for us buyers. Cheers.

1. Hardly a profit (£2.06).
2. Yes.

So,
1. If they do not reduce their price, someone could by the Mario + Luigi at £16.94 from shop4world, then sell to them for £19, and make a profit.
2. If they do reduce the price, it is good news for people want 2nd hand original as they are priced the same as 2nd hand Selects by CeX.
Am I right?
Resell selects to them is not something I will do, just a thought.

I can confirm, Cex don't have separate listings for Selects titles. They have A Link Between Worlds with Selects packaging for the exact same price
Heat added. Won't be buying but the hope is it lowers the price of the normal version at places like Cex that treat them the same.

If that is the case, the release of Selects is also a good news for people who only want the original, only if they do not mind 2nd hand.
Is it true that CeX do not price the used Selects and Original differently? I am not doubting you. It is just something I am not aware of.

I love CoolShop and bought a few things from them, but my bank sent me a new debit card because their website had been reported as fraudulent by other Barclays customers. I've never had a problem with orders or missing money but something to be wary of!

The postage would take it over to £20.
It would make sense to buy a small thing to make up £20.
My point is Nintendo Land Select version for £18 is not very good price, not much saving from the original. Whereas, the other 5 titles do have a much bigger price differences. If anyone need Nintendo Land, just go for it now, not worth wait 1 month for the Selects. If do not mind 2nd hand, you can get it 2nd hand today for around £10.
And if you only want brand new, you do not have Amazon prime, and the £2 price difference is important, then wait 1 month for the Selects. or wait for some seller discount the original version.

Or you could sell on ebay for more. Need to account for ebay fee, paypal fee and delivery.
I purchased Super Mario Bros U brand new two weeks ago. I wanted both Mario + Luigi, but they are so expensive.
Now, I sold my Mario on ebay, and pre-order the Selects. Happy day.

Notice how Amazon don't have these listed for pre-order yet? They're probably trying to sell the non-select versions off at vastly inflated prices before these are released next month.

Nintendo Land is often a lot lot cheaper - been down to £5-6 for awhile even. is this one of the rare games that actually gets more expensive when the "cheap" version comes along?
Yeah, I often feel similarly, even though keeping the money in your hands for longer is, logically, the more beneficial option.
Sorry to hear about you being laid off - I hope that you find a new role before too long!

Better for me that it's done upfront
means I can have these games after I am laid off this month so don't need to worry about being able to pay.

Weird choice to release Nintendo Land than Mario 3D World. Although I'd assume SM3W is coming.
Nintendo Land just isn't worth £17.

Sorry if I sound a bit silly... But does 'select' mean that it's not the same size/spec game as the regular priced one? My boys have wanted this for ages but I didn't want to spend £40 on it... Will they be disappointed with this?

Same games, just different boxart. Your sons won't be disappointed with any of these (well, at least not if they have any taste in games ).

Game is the exactly same. Only in different box.
And for New Super Mario Bros, you got Luigi as well in Selects. The original with the two games together is really expensive.

Nintendo Land, no need to buy Selects. You can get brand new original version from amazon now for the same price

Yep, Nintendo and the retailers, respectively, will probably know.
As for whether anyone here could say with certainty, no of course not. I'd make an educated guess that this re-release won't be overly scarce, though.

Nope - not limited run (and besides, downloads will be virtually unlimited). Hard to say whether retailers will discount further but it's unlikely for most of the higher priced games. The 'official' price is £19.99 for the selects range. I believe Nintendoland was available fairly cheaply for quite a while.

Ah, okay. Well, again, the games are very different but I'd hope that he should also enjoy Super Mario Bros U - if only for some variety! One word of warning, though - the other part of the package, Super Luigi U, is very much more challenging!

My youngest has been obsessed with Mario & sonic Olympics for years (so much so that we've bought the 2012 one 3 times because it was used so much). However, I'm not prepared to spend that much on a game so maybe as a consolation prize the super Mario one will do??

Thank you for your help... That's the one I've just ordered, but I'm now really tempted to get the Super Mario/luigi one too - is it worth buying as well?? Or should I hold out for a price drop on the Mario Rio Olympics?? (Being very optimistic?!)
