I have two of these permanently in my MacBook Pro. A 64gig & a 128gig. They have never got hot. I have read a few times about them getting hot, why don't mine. I'm using them all the time. I've had the one over a year & the other for 6 months.

Try to post at least one deal at some point - not only make stupid comments... ohh, thats you are after...

Suspect the original comment was an observation on this product's well-documented tendancy to become excessively hot in use. And we are taking genuinely excessively hot - enough to cause damage to the host port on occasions. I rarely use mine now due to this issue, and I restrict its use to instances that do not require sustained transfer of large amounts of data, which as you can appreciate sorta defeats the object of its original appeal.

Good to know, I usually take mine out of my MBP.

These are unbelievably cheap now.
