Got one of these last week. It's absolutely enormous and weighs 23kg! The missus is making me get rid of it.

I got this last time around. It's so big, I am thinking of getting it moved outside and building a shed around it. Or perhaps move it to the living room and throw a good cushion over it and call it a divan.

could any owner kindly advice me
if one of the colour run out, could I still print in black and white paper?
I have a colour inject printer and even I just choice to print in black , the printer would not work until I change one low capacity colour ink (20% left, while the black ink is full).
thanks

I've heard that even the cheap compatible replacement cartridges for this will cost you twice as much as the printer itself.
Suddenly, it doesn't seem such a great deal.

I have an elderly HP Laserjet 4100N as a black & white laser and its nearly as large and as heavy as the Ricoh.
Last toner went "Off" after 6 years and with 95% toner remaining, started to produce streaky/dirty prints. New toner and back to producing quality prints.
New house rule:
Black White use HP 4100N
If it has to be colour Ricoh SPC2400DN

Lol I need to show my wife that comment. I got the dell 3330dn mono printer deal a few years ago then a Brother colour one last year.
Guess what rules I have in my house.

It's massive lol
I have it living room near TV as a decoration plugged to my router. Too heavy and too deep for my shelf next to PC.
Print quality is great. Well worth money paid.

With 3 kids in collage / School colour laser has been a godsend! Bought this last week on the £40 deal very nice printer had 2 dells before this. Toner does seem expensive but I just keep eye out for bargains.

If this printer is smudging your using the wrong paper. This looks like a rebadged oki printer. If so its a great printer though cartridges not cheap.
Got one last time these were on here for £39.99.
It is big and heavy, but for the price it's a good printer.

Can you recommend a mono laser with automatic duplex and networking (preferably wired)? With cheap refills? I don't mind the size of this but the refills look very expensive.

I bought this last week for £40 and have had non stopped problems. I've tried lots of different methods to stop mine from smudging but after 50 pages of it I've decided enough is enough!

At 4.5p per print with the initial toners I'd say this is an absolute bargain, my local library charges 30p each for colour prints.

Sadly for me that's more like the reaction to my credit card bill. :disappointed:

Seems excessively heavy & large, had my Samsung CLP310 for about 6 years now it's smaller than an inkjet

i got one last week after wanting a colour laser for ages, and preferring a duplex model too. this is similar in size to many office models and is about the size of a 16" portable CRT telly or monitor but weighs a tonne
it was easy to get working, plug in network cables, install drivers, stick in paper and first print of a duplex page worked well. the colour looks great too, and i just used old white paper that was lyring around, no fancy quality paper
i'm very happy with it. it has no wireless but i didn't want/need that although others may. as long as you have the space it's fine. no borderless printing though. that's the only other thing apart from a scanner that may be desirable

There was a fair few users in the last deal that mentioned that this thing was huge and heavy. Any potential buyers have been warned lol.
Truthfully unless you need to print colour documents all the time then a mono laser printer will suit you needs better. They are much smaller and lighter. If you only need to print colour documents a few times a year then you could just use a friends, work or schools printer or visit a printing shop/local supermarket.
If you do absolutely need to print colour all the time and want something smaller then Samsung have some models you can look at, they cost literally 3x as much as this but halve the weight, you can see an example here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008BGQNUG
