They're in a light syrup, so sugar and water. Canning and sugar acts as a preservative and fruit contains fructose so I'm not sure why you're making it sound like it's a toxic chemical cocktail. :stuck_out_tongue:

add some sweet ginger or some equivalent sweet cured fruits, some double whipped cream, some evaoprated milk, dust the strawbs with soome some fine dark brown sugar first
