The Ottoman gas lift deep storage bed is the ideal solution if you’re struggling for extra storage space and need a discrete and easy solution. The Ottoman storage bed offers up to 2 times the storage space of a conventional divan with drawers. You’ll increase your storage space significantly without having to alter anything else in the room.
Access to the storage area is aided by 2 gas lift mechanisms for easy lifting with heavy duty strap at the foot end.
This storage bed is not built like others on the market, it features a durable metal frame and metal centre support leg. This bed is built to last, with a central support beam that runs the length of the bed and an additional support beam which runs the width of the bed (not visible in the photo as its placed at the bottom of the bed).
The supportive sprung base will work with your mattress to give you a comfortable night's sleep and prolong mattress life.
Available in black or dark brown faux leather the bed features detailed stitching which gives it a modern and classy look.
A durable fabric base attached using Velcro keeps your items off the floor.

Looks a bit cheap and dare I say nasty. Have a look at Kaydian beds if you want quality, I have a Walkworth ottoman and it's very well made. Worth the extra as most spend a big chunk of their lives there.
Most being their own beds, not mine.

As in Wife? Surely that's standard practice for any bed after the act of marriage?

I have one of these... the first time I lifted the frame with the strap, the strap broke... and now the actual frame is falling apart, one of the bolts broke the other day so I had to bolt a new makeshift one in from the outside to hold it up again... then the O ring that holds the hydraulic pistons in place snapped off, oh and the screws are screwed in from underneath the frame (idiotic design, do they not know how gravity works?), so you have to keep tightening them up every few weeks. The damn thing squeaks all the time too.
I also thought it was a good deal when I bought it, now, as you can tell... I do not.
Edit: btw mine is a double.

I ordered a similar looking bed from Groupon at £160ish. What a pile of crap it was. Flimsy as hell and the wood behind the cushion on the frame sounded like it was cracking every time you touched it. A bit unnerving on the head board.

We had one from amazon... not sure if same make but looks similar
had it around 4 months... mixed reviews... looks great... not too bad to build bit needed a drill to drill wooden supports in...
bit creaky... need to tighten bolts every few months... the fabric on the bottom isn't big enough...
creaked a bit so had to put double sided tape in parts to solve it..
hydraulic lift works well lots of storage. .. we paid 90 quid not sure if I would pay more for it

We've got a very similar bed and it broke (the hinge mechanism bent out and the frame dropped) within a few days because I stood at the head end to hang a picture.
We've had a replacement for about 6 months now without a problem but only because we've been very careful about putting any weight past the hinge mechanism.
Also, the chipboard base inside the bed frame is laughable - it'll pop right through as soon as you store a pillow in there. It's not essential so save yourself some construction time and don't bother with it
If you're careful, this is a good deal - heated

I have the SMALL DOUBLE of this bed. I got mine for about £70 from Amazon. It's definitely not the strongest bed, and it was missing some screws and wasn't as easy to assemble as I'd hoped. But I would personally say it's worth it. The hydraulic works well and gives loads of room. It looks pretty nice and smart too.
