And the fluff will appear on the wall when you paint!

That's is why you always wash a new roller in warm water before you use it, then you will not get any fluff coming off.
Have used these rollers from screwfix and they are ok bargain at 85p. Hot from me.

These look just the same as the ones I got from b&q last week and I must say they are fantastic . I used it to paint over an extremely bumpy , damaged repaired uneven ceiling and it painted it with so much ease ! Also used it to paint bumpy walls at the same time with no problem at all .Gave it a good wash after and it's ready to use again .

Will these leave a smooth finish on a smooth wall or a "mottled" effect to help hide surface imperfections?

I used these to paint my dining room. After one wall, I binned them all and bought some Harris ones. Diall ones are also good. Had to sand off the fluff.

This brand at screwfix is great. Highly recommended.
As for the product itself, I haven't used it but would based on my previous experience with the brand.
And for the fluff coming off, surely just wash it first?!

what are those long piles even good for? Btw can anyone explain me why would a roller sleeve need to cost £3 a p iece? The cheapest good ones are from toolstation (short pile) for I think £2.20 but still why do they charge so much for just a roller sleeve?

Masonry paint used externally on rendered/textured/pebble dashed finishes etc. Also handy getting in the nooks and crannys if you need to paint concrete blocks i.e garage walls.
