I am tempted but this is a very unattractive looking console, and the bottom is green not white so not easy to cover it with skins.

I don't believe skins are available for the xl version in general. So you're stuck with this.

Yes you can buy skins online, I think you mean plates which are only for new 3ds, not xl. Best skins (decals) are made by decalgirl, you can also create custom (I have them on my two old 3ds xl consoles). There is plenty of skins on eBay and Etsy.

Do you actually receive the NEW 3ds xl - when you put it in your basket it states 3ds xl - just wondering?
