I'm not sure if this is a pricing error but it has been reduced even more making it the cheapest iv seen it.
Found this on the Johnlewis site. it works out cheaper than the student price on the Microsoft store. All the surface pro's have been discounted.

Looks like Quidco have 10% / 70 on the Surface pro 4 (Think that means up to £70?)
Was in store about to buy this but they didn't have it in stock on the day. Lady serving me said it was on offer until the 6th, but looks like there was additional discount or something. Could have saved myself ~£100 :disappointed:

As someone who is typing this comment on one of these, the £100 keyboard cover is pretty much mandatory with this thing. Also there's an annoying issue where the battery will run down while the surface is asleep, they did have it fixed for a short while with a firmware update but then another update broke it again. Still voting hot because it is a decent bit of kit at a decent price and the battery issue has been fixed with an update once so in theory it should be again.

I set my one to always go into hibernation. Takes a little longer to come back when you want to use it but it works for me every time. Forget the sleep function, its useless.

It will seem overpriced when compared to other tablets because i have already said it is not really a tablet people it is a Windows 10 PC in tablet form it should really be compared to macbook or macbook air whicr are similar price but this device kills them in terms of power.

The most overpriced, overhyped piece of kit ever.
Don't forget to add another £100 for the privilege of being able to type.
Microsoft talk about this being able to replace my laptop.
Not with a piddly 12.3" screen it won't.
The Samsung Galaxy TabPro S will give this a run for it's money and I can see this being down to under £600 in 3 months because it's specs simply don't justify such a highly inflated price that makes Apple pricing seem reasonable in comparison.

Have to agree, I own the i5 4GB version and you are not just paying for spec. Everything feels premium on this, the screen is outstanding in pretty much every area (colour accuracy, contrast ratio). The speakers are far better than anything similar ive ever used. The pen, the keyboard, everything feels premium. Yes there has been a number of issues reported on these (luckly not had any of these) but Microsoft have done a number of updates over a pretty short period of time and addressed these, would you get that from these cheap tablets?
For me its like comparing two cars, you may get the same engine in both but its the whole package you need to look at.

I am suggesting people who call this just a tablet are ignorant, as they clearly do not know what they are talking about. Owning this I would say this device is actually quite a poor tablet (mainly to windows10's failings), but as a full blown windows 10 pc in a tablet form it makes for a very competent well built portable device.

Absolutely so long as you don't plan on using the surface pen, I bought mine for use with adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and some very light portable gaming/PS2 emulation and for those purposes it fits the bill pretty well.
Why I said the keyboard is a necessity is because as a tablet experience, Windows 10 is mediocre at best and on a screen with a DPI as high as this one, there will be times when fingers won't have the fidelity to press where you want them to press.

One could have Chinese tablet with 14nm Core Y CPU, PEN functionality, FHD screen 10.6 inches, 4Gb ram, upgradeable 64GB SSD with 64bit Windows 10 of course for £220. Add £40 for a matching keyboard.
I got one of those for £110 during Christmas raffle on one of websites. Should have probably saved to buy £900 Surface.

Battery life depends on what you use the tablet for.
There are issues with a lot of products on the market, not just the Surface products.

No one is ignorant here, and anyone looking to buy this would know exactly what it can do, the point is that there are much cheaper equivalents that do the same thing, and also come with a keyboard attachment. There's no denying the fact that the surface pro is hideously over priced.
