So far spot on. They answer within seconds so no waiting on hold for ages. Every time I've called they've sorted whatever I've called about there and then.
Since this is a 30 day contract when Life mobile have changed the cost of the monthly tariff or the number of included minutes/data are you still paying/getting the old plan or do they automatically move you/change minutes/data to the new plan ?

I just rang life to ask if they have a better deal can I move to it. He said yes. So I guess there is no harm in calling and changing tariffs.

My number got ported to Life to today and so far very happy. Every time I rang customer service they picked up within 1 ring and new what they were doing.
When I rang ID mobile they seemed clueless on the phone.

So if your an existing member you can't just upgrade to double minutes with the same cost.

Cheers, I contacted Life mobile and they confirmed the same.
Looks like a win win, TPO move you up and down with your allowance and monthly cost (when they change the plan) so at least if you are happy with the plan you sign up for you know what you get.
Having some issues with signing up at the mo (which they are trying to resolve ), they seem helpful and willing but confused.

+1 - I opted for the £5.95 deal via USwitch - will be getting 1K of Calls, 5K of Texts and 1GB of Data; more than enough for me and will allow me to move away from Vodafone who are charging me far to much.

Sod's law - just read about this AFTER I applied for it online! :disappointed: I'm unemployed so I'm hoping this will go through - just have to wait for Vodafone to provide me with the PAC, so I can get away from their increasingly expensive network.

do they perform credit checks?

Just been on chat with them
They now do credit check. This has changed though as before they didn't.
They also said they have not implemented telephone orders to credit check until tomorrow
So if you want a sim and don't want a credit check you need to call today before 4pm

Why are people obsessed with customer service, think I've phoned my mobile operators twice in last 10 years. Who do you need to phone them up all the time?
Wotan to DrRollo
2 Apr 16#37
So when you called them up for whatever reason would you have been absolutely okay with them being useless? Not dealing with your problem and whatever issue you had being left as was/made worse and the people who are supposed to be dealing with it not doing so?
People are obsessed with customer service because they want the confidence that should a problem arise the people who are there to deal with it will do so in a timely manner. Which sadly isn't the case with all companies (look at ID for example).

These SIM cards come with a £5 cap already in place. A quick call can reduce that to £1.

Yes, you can. I've just ordered for my son. They told me once you've activated the sim, just give them a call. Min. Cap is £1.

i would rate them a no. 1 customer service in the UK. I left them because of 3G, but was sad leaving them and rang customer service to say 'thank you' for being very kind and helpful and 'sorry' for leaving them.

Life Mobile is a subsidiary of EE. It is fully owned by EE.

yes, prices are big higher since I joined them but still one of the best at the moment. I used uswitch offer (£6) about 5 weeks ago. so far so good. customer service is spot on probably because not so many customers so no waiting when you phone them. they work on EE network but only o 3G. in my area (Belfast) I have H+ and speed about 15-20 mb down and 2-3 up. it's much better than what I had in giffgaff 4G (2-3 up and down). I have transfered my number with one phone call and waited 24 h. what else. there is no dedicated app or live chat but online you can check your allowance, bills, statements etc. after two years struggle with GG I'm finally happy.

Thanks OP, I've gone for the 5.95 uswitch tariff. Was gonna get I'd mobile but hear a lot of negative about their customer service.
BPH77
1 Apr 16#26
They are great, the coverage is the same as EE and their customer service is high up there.
Beware if you are porting a number from EE or an EE backed network (like the Post Office).
This is their one major failing. I was without a mobile service for 6 days and without mobile internet for 18 days. They do state that the service may be interrupted but come on...
I was heavily compensated though. 3 months free line rental (£18) and a further £18 credited into my bank account.
Number porting from other networks is reportedly much less hassle but if I were to have my time again I would have just signed up and obtained a new number.

You just change the tariff number (on the Life web address) when you buy any sim card.
The 5.95 deal is tariff 100

Still looks much better than GiffGaff's current goodybags.
Ah, it seems they are directly owned by EE, so there should be no problems. I only need a few texts a day and a few hundred mb data a month so the mainstream plans are too expensive. Of the low costs suppliers, I've tried the Post Office (if you run out of credit you can't top up via your mobile! and the website payments was always down) and Asda (complete ****) and someone else I can't remember but obviously weren't that good either!
So far spot on. They answer within seconds so no waiting on hold for ages. Every time I've called they've sorted whatever I've called about there and then.
I can't fault them at all.

They've certainly changed them, second tier has gone down 50p but has also lost 1000 mins (500 with this offer) and used to be unlimited texts. Obviously most people got the £6 deal through Uswitch though but this is now £5.95 with the reduced amount of minutes and texts.
Opening post
600min / 5000txt / 500mb = £4.95
1000min / 5000txt / 1gb = £7.45
2000min / 5000txt / 2gb = £9.95
4000min / 5000txt / 4gb = £13.95
