Stay far, far away of eglobalcentral guys. They're based in Hong Kong and the goods are imported. They do all sorts of shady things to avoid customs charges and when you get the package it doesn't even have any labels related to eglobalcentral or even a receipt. It took 3 months to get my last order from them and their customer support is literally non-existent. They lie about stock levels and do not contact you even if they know that dispatchments will be delayed.
Funilly enough they don't have the time to respond to customer queries through their ticket system but they have time to reply to almost every negative review on Trustpilot. Just scroll down and you'll see a **** of 1 star reviews from people who were either unable to contact eglobalcentral or didn't even receive their order.

Who bashed?
But ok, as you asked so nicely...
The phone arrived (Zenphone 2) and all seemed fine, then I noticed the memory card kept ejecting itself, tried another card and had the same problem, clearly an issue with the device. Then one morning noticed I had missed a call but hadn't heard it ring.
All sounds had stopped working, not just ringtones. Several reboots later and return to factory settings were all to no avail.
Contacted E-Global and it went on and on, backwards and forwards without any real solution. So I contacted the CC company to ask them to start proceedings for a full refund. As soon as that happened E-Global contacted me with the details to send it back, which I did and they said they were going to repair it. But eventually agreed to a refund. Without the back up of the CC company I think they would have just repaired it.
Why would my warranty have been with Google BTW?

That's not what the law says and many manufacturers will just tell you to contact the retailer you bought from.
It's only after 6 months that things can become a little problematic as you can be asked for proof you didn't cause the problem.
Even with a manufacturers warranty I usually deal with the retailer as they can replace the device straight away without me having to send it to some foreign address and then having to wait for the manufacturer to inspect/repair it or send me a refurbished device.
As someone has mentioned these are probably grey imports so the manufacturer may well refuse you any warranty.

No expandable memory, lower res screen, smaller screen (5.2" vs 5.5"), less ram.
It has a fingerprint sensor, better bluetooth spec, runs clean android with latest updates, better camera (based on all the comparisons I can find online), slightly smaller footprint.
