Select one of the plans that you pay something upfront, like the 1GB deal for £31/month, £79.99 upfront.
The payable price of the device £13 x 24 = £312 + £79.99 = £391.99.
Of course, as most of you are probably aware by now, you can just pay off the device and cancel the remaining airtime contract.
Cheapest I've seen this available for, forgive me if I've missed something.
£31/month, £79.99 upfront so 31x24+79.99=823.99. Did I miss something here??

Hi there, do you mean that you need to give your card details to O2 to buy the phone? If so, you should be safe enough. O2 are pretty reputable :sunglasses:
In the event that a rogue staff member stole your details too, then you're bank should have your back.

Hi All,
I just spoke to o2 chat who told me that for those who had ordered online but opted for click and collect - that you can collect your headphones instore. While the Cam Plus is for 08.04.16 – 27.04.16 only

Finally got through to someone on the chat that knew what I was on about.
You have to pay at least 1 month of airtime from my experience. They bill that as soon as your phone arrives.
You need to keep contract for 14 days then you can apply for free headphones and once you get confirmation email you can go off to a different network.

I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered from Amazon (have amazon vouchers)
I found out that Vodafone are selling this for £410 which includes a £10 topup, i asked if i could get a price match on Amazon and all though they didn't give me a yes or no answer, they have added a section under product details which states :
Would you like to give feedback on images or tell us about a lower price?
I have been told if quite a few reports are sent in regarding the price being lower elsewhere, the only difference is it's locked to Vodafone, That they will see if they can price match, Helpful for people like me who like to shop at Amazon or have vouchers

I'm honestly not sure, someone suggested earlier in the thread that because it is refresh you can cancel it at any time. However I'm not sure, it is a risk you have to either take or not.
Heck I already put in my code on the website to claim for the headphones which we can't do till the 22nd so not sure how that is going to go when I try and enter the info again.
Good call!...for the life of me not sure why I missed the bit about still being on a refresh contract. Have cancelled my change to pay as you go and should still be in contract when the time comes to apply for the headphones.

Just paid off my device plan and air time. Here's what I was told:
1) It takes 48 hours for the airtime to stop
2) They will still take the first Direct Debit for the full amount on the 23rd (was billed on 9th April) - so £18
3) They will then refund whatever I you did not use - so in my case 17 days worth of airtime - about £9 or so
O2 guy said it was incredibly important that first Direct Debit comes out or could be held in default.
My suggestion is pay off airtime as soon as possible to minimise costs.

Anyone else having an issue where games are refusing to use your google play id/nickname/username and forcing you to use a new nickname to track achievements etc? On all my other phones once logged in any games would automatically log into Google Play games without issue but on my G5 it keeps asking me to create an ID - if I input an existing one it says its already in use. Have a feeling it's to do with permissions but never had this problem before (currently have 3 other android phones).
Nevermind...realised this was to do with Google's new gamer id system. Once you choose one it merges your existing stats with it.

15 Apr 16#262
Hi Guys,
For all those who have applied for the headphones already I just wanted to point out something that might affect your claim. It stated in the T&C's that:
Qualifying Purchase Period: 00:01 GMT 8th April 2016 to 23:59 GMT 27th April inclusive
Redemption Period: 22nd April to 27th May 2016
Pre order and purchase an LG G5 (the “Device”) during the Qualifying Purchase Period on an 1GB (or above) O2 Refresh tariff and be eligible to receive a FREE set of Earphones upon purchase.
You must be within contract for more than 14 days to qualify for this Promotion. Claims will only be validated 14 days after purchase and activation of the Device and contract.
Use the leaflet received with your Device in order to claim your FREE Earphones online via http://www.lgg5promotion.co.uk/o2 during the Redemption Period. Claims received outside of the Redemption Period will not be successful.
So if you have made a claim for the headphones already you won't be getting them. You need to wait a little while - until the redemption window starts before you can claim your headphones. I assume cam-plus has similar restrictions.
Thanks

Received mine yesterday and had a play, but waiting to unlock it before I make it my daily carry.
Fortunately I don't have the problems others have had - light bleed and poor gaps. I'm going to keep it because in general I like it (especially the wide angle lens) and it is a great price for a latest flagship, but I do have to say that in general the build is less than premium...

It says 14days, but I filled the form out online on the promo website a few days ago. So will see if I get the headphones. I think unless anyone knows different we won't be getting the headphones (unless you want to keep the contract).
Seems these are the terms:
3. Your Minimum Period – Your Pay Monthly Mobile Agreement has a minimum term called a Minimum Period. After that Minimum Period, you can end the Agreement by giving us 30 days' Notice and you will have to pay Charges during this notice period. Unless specified otherwise (such as in your Tariff Terms), if you want to end the Agreement during the Minimum Period or we end this Agreement as a result of your material breach, then you will have to pay a fee of no more than your Monthly Subscription Charges multiplied by the number of months left in your Minimum Period and if you've taken Equipment on a Device Plan, you will have to pay for it in full. Details are in paragraph 8 of the Agreement

Does anyone has problem with the Quick Charge?
It is supposed to support QC3.0 and charger 20% battery within 10min, however it takes about 30min to charge 10% on my phone, using the original charger and cable even I have put the phone into sleep.
Talked to O2 live chat, they said they can replace the phone if the problem is due to the phone being faulty, however I will have to contact LG directly if the problem is related to the charger / cable...

When you plug the original charger in, it should say on the lock screen (I think) Fast charging.

Try just locking your phone then plugging the charger in, then double tap the screen to wake it and see if after a few seconds it reads 'fast charging' at the bottom

More concerned with the phone I received, the base doesn't line up flush with the back or both sides of the device, one side is OK, the other has a noticeable lip jutting out. Also ran a light bleed app and there was quite a bit of bleed as per other complaints, so they are replacing the phone for me - another 3 day wait. Hopefully incoming batch of phones will have better QC
Besides that, it's a lovely phone, lightning fast and quick charge is cool. Didn't notice battery drain.

I was reading on XDA that people were finding draining the battery down till dead then fully charging it gave them around 5-6 hours screen time from that point forward. Not sure how accurate it is though. But I suppose that is the advantage of the G5 we can just switch out the battery.

Should add that I walked into an O2 shop yesterday around 7pm to ask about my order. They told me the following:
If you ordered online for collection in store then they have no idea of the status of your order until it arrives in the store. He was unable to check my order and suggested that I ring O2 up directly to find out.
He then proceeded to show me an internal O2 email/message/memo (dated 07/04/16) advising all staff that pre-orders will not arrive before midday Friday and so customers would not be able to pick up their orders at store opening. Additionally the message went on to say that not all pre-orders will be delivered tomorrow and that there will be a further shipment later next week.
I was told that if my order does arrive, it will be input into the system and I will then be notified by chosen form or notification selected at time of order (so email, txt, etc)
I placed my order early on 24th March but not really going to get my hopes up for tomorrow.

Online chat:
With the latest phones you'll have to pay off the phone cost first to unlock it.
Yes, all our phones are locked to O2 network. However, you can unlock the contract phone anytime you want by contacting us. There's no extra charge to unlock the contract phone.
So I can pay off the phone and cancel the airtime when I choose ?
Yes, you are right. Once you paid off the phone cost you'll be free to cancel the airtime anytime you want. We won't charge you anything for the airtime plan of remaining months which you won't use.
With O2 Refresh, this will include two contracts and two monthly bills - one for your device and one for your airtime (minutes, texts and data). All bills must be paid by direct debit.
The device plan is a 0% APR Representative credit agreement with Telefonica UK Limited which means Telefonica UK limited loans you the money to buy the device and you repay it through monthly installments over 24 months. You can also make additional payments (which will reduce the monthly cost) or repay the full loan amount early at any time. Once you have paid off the device, you can stay connected to an airtime or data plan for as long as you want to, or you can upgrade to a brand new device. This gives you flexibility to change your device whenever you want.
As the device plan is a regulated credit agreement, O2 Refresh is subject to eligibility, credit checks and an affordability assessment.

I have a contract already which has just finished so can upgrade. This is showing as an option on the O2 site (upgrade to refresh). I am thinking of doing the upgrade and paying off the device. Following this, rather than cancel with O2 I would want to upgrade to a SIM Only tariff. This looks feasible as I understand once your device is paid for you can either upgrade to a new contract (i.e. SIM Only) or cancel the airtime at any time without cost. Can anyone confirm?

Not sure what you mean by "upgrade" if you are referring to a upgrading an exsisting O2 contract then you can't, but if you mean getting the G5 as an upgraded phone by taking out a new O2 contract then paying off the phone/cancelling the air time the answer then you can?

Looks like I did the right thing then when Virgin offered me an S6 when I had an issue with my G4. I was in two minds to take the offer but am really glad I pursued the issue with LG direct and got my G4 back. Brilliant phone. No carrier software and no manufacturer bloatware, just one app if I remember. Also I have always called whatever android phone I have had a superior phone in conversation with my son who has owned nothing but Iphones as a smarphone. Yesterday we both took the same set of pictures of my daughter and she said that my pictures were superior. There's a possible £60 cashback from quidco so if you want that log into quidco and search to find o2 mobiles, click to get the exclusive cashback (make sure adblockers are turned off) and search for the lg g5 on the o2 website it sends you to.
Otherwise, click get deal at the top of this page.
Find the tariff you want, select one with an upfront cost to save money.
continue through the rest of the purchase and now wait until the phone arrives (April 8th).
Then insert the sim card and and request o2 to unlock it for free.
Then pay off the phone and if you do then want to cancel the airtime contract (I am, giffgaff is cheaper), wait a day and cancel that.
I do think this is a good deal and if I hadn't got the G4 last July I would be ordering. I think I got quite a good deal on my G4 tbh. It will cost me £20.00 a month over 24 months = £480.00 but it came with a free smart watch which I sold on ebay for £187.00. Got about £160.00 nett after fees so the phone cost me £320.00. I am happy with that even though the Vodafone offer much later at £225.00 was also good. Mine was one of the ill-fated motherboard ones which LG finally admitted to publicly in January. I think mine was faulty right from the start as it just didn't seem as quick as my previous Samsung S4. The main reason I bought the LG is that samsung have now decided to put their prices where Apple is and in my opinion smartphones are just not worth that sort of money. For quite a lot less I picked the LG as it had nearly as good a spec as the S6 and cannot fault the camera. Everyone coments how good the photos are.
LG were absolutely amazing in fixing the phone. My carrier who was Virgin requested I send the phone to them and they didn't even look at the phone as it was more than 6 months old and their policy is to issue an 'as new' phone and they offered me an S6. I didn't want it, got in touch with LG who agreed to repair it and asked Virgin to send me the phone back. Two weeks later I have my old G4 back with a new main board and its fine. Super quick.
Anyone who reads this be very careful who you buy a phone from. If you buy it from one of our favourite auction sites from a person, i.e. not a business, and you have an issue with the phone you may just find it is not covered by any manufacturers warranty. If I had bought my G4 from Joe Public I would be looking at a very expensive paperweight. Also you need to ask your carrier or company you purchased your phone from what is their policy f your phone breaks. If you like me decide on a certain brand of phone you want that phone back. It would appear Virgin's policy is not to send the phone back to the manufacturer but to offer you a replacement. In my case it paid to go straight to the manufacturer who resolved the problem. On another issue you will be wise to take care of you phone. If it has any physical or water damage your warranty will not be valid and you may need to pay a fee to bring your phone back into warranty. No issues with mine though but interesting to see what others had put when reading the forums.

EDIT: Edit as I don't want to add another comment, I have already had a look at cases on amazon, and surprisingly, I could not find a 2 piece case, where you can just take the bottom off (slide it off etc), to allow changing modules without taking whole case off, that would be handy:)

26 Mar 16#96
Yeah yeah most certainly you're right, just wanted to let you know that its not the case with o2. Yeah it actually seems that headphones are selling on the bay for quite decent money, yet I think it will fall down as plenty people will get them free with the g5 and want to flog them. I think that realistically you could get about 70 for them after fees, Im still on the verge of ordering, as after having g4 which I really liked (apart from lack of fingerprint scanner and a bit plasticky feel), this ticks pretty much all the boxes (would have been just perfect with stock android and a larger battery), but those issues can be worked around (google now launcher bringing it closer to stock form, replacement battery for g5 or a battery module if they introduce one. Love the idea of wide angle camera and I think I would use it pretty often, love the idea of modules (IFF they don't abandon this idea quickly and 3rd parties work on it, we might get some really cool stuff coming) and at the end of the day, overally Id only have to pay a 100 quid to migrate from my nexus 5x.

The headphones are worth only as much as someone else is willing to pay for them but at half the rrp for the headphones, the phone isn't too bad a deal as I did say earlier. I just hope they don't have the same motherboard problems that the G4 had otherwise that could prove extremely embarrassing for LG.

Read the thread, the first thing you do on delivery is insert the sim card and then get 02 to unlock the phone.
This seems an hell of a bargain when the cheapest S7 still seems to be the Very Edge deal at £515, whilst that is probably a better phone I'm not sure if it's worth over £100 more, nearly £200 with the headphones, also worried the Edge might be a bit fragile for somebody who drops their phone all too regularly!

If you are lucky enough to know anyone at O2/Telefonica/Tesco mobile, they get discount on the airtime side of the deal. My friend gets 50% off the airtime for around 30 friends and family, so makes this contract worth seeing out!

If 02 refresh works the same as Virgin you will pay the airtime upfront so in effect you will be paying £391.99 + £14.00 because the first £14.00 for air time will be billed on the day you receive the phone. 30 days notice means you will have already been billed for the first 30 days on the first available day in which you can cancel the airtime part of the contract. It's still not too bad a price but pretty soon other companies will be offering the phone for around the £400.00 mark if the G4 was anything to go buy. I actually got my G4 for £320.00 just 2 months after it was launched.

Well here you can effectively get this by less than 320 on release if you consider selling the headphones provided. Also, o2 doesn't charge the first month and this comes from a person who has done a couple of refresh deals in the past:)

Daaaarn.... This site makes me go crazy...
For the last year I've had iphone 6, lg g3, sony z3, s6 edge plus, s6 edge, nexus 6p, note 4, lg g4, nexus 5x, and now after having 5x for like 2 weeks or so I wanna jump on this one... need to stop buying phones :o
I want to find a perfect one and stick to it for a while, as Im tired of swapping them but neither I had was perfect. 5x ticks most of the boxes, yet battery is not great, and sometimes chokes a little, this on the other hand has some cool features like the wide angle camera and modularity. battery is also small so battery life might not be great, but Im sure we will see some larger battery capacity modules (without adding bulk such as the camera one), also has microSD. Selling headphones it will cost the whereabouts of 310-20, and is definitely worth it for the new release... this site is evil:(

That what O2 are saying is the same as Carphone warehouse saying if you return a phone with a free Xbox you have to give back the Xbox. If you pay the contract off you keep the Xbox. O2 won't make you give back the B&O headphones if you pay off the handset on this refresh deal.

O2 cashback should take 13 weeks (3 months) to come through but it will take longer, It will takes 5-6 months so you can cancel after you get it.

I'd like the headphones but it does seem you won't get them without at least paying the first month of airtime. If I cancel after the 14 days and after paying the first month of airtime, would I still get to keep the headphones (I believe so) and would this affect my credit rating at all?

I would have thought the B&O headphones was more an LG Promotion then an O2 one, espeically as nearly every site is offering the headphones as part of an order.
Was quite tempted, but now with the prospect of having to return the headphones, I might go with the £445 deal as at least it will be an international version. Dont particularly want to root this phone, not with Google Pay coming out next month.

No, the device plan for those tariff without upfront payment is £18 per month, rather than £13 per month.
So you will have to pay £18 * 24 = £432, rather than £13 * 24 + £79.99 = £391.99 as shown in OP.
I chose the 500MB data tariff that for £79.99 upfront payment and £27.00 (£13 device plan + £14 airtime) instead.

To get the unlock code you will just need the IMEI, enter it on O2's website, should take 24hrs or so.
And no, you don't need to return anything to O2.

After that I played it safe and cancelled the DD.

Should we cancel the direct debit with bank?

I only recently got the LG G4 from voda for £225.. as with all things, no doubt the price will drop near end of year as the new models are ready to be released. But even if they did so for £225, it wont be with the earphones.. so at this price, during the release period it's a steal.. I just need to convince the wife before I commit to another phone
Xaar
24 Mar 16#27
I've done this a few times in the past.. twice I've cancelled within the grace period (14 days), and once kept the contract.
If you decide to cancel, I'd recommend you get the handset unlocked as soon as you receive it, then pay it off, and cancel within 14 days.. when I've done this O2 have waived all fee's, so I just paid off the handset.
O2 Refresh is basically 2 separate contacts.. so it's not a £31/month contract.. its an £18 Airtime contract, and a £13 handset contract. As soon as the handset it paid off, you can terminate the airtime contract, usually pro rata for that current month, but often waived if during the initial grace period.
I'm not sure about the headphones.. I believe those are provided by LG directly, as such they should be honoured as you have legitimately bought the handset.

Can I just ask (never done one of these before)....
When does the first monthly payment of £31 come out?
So if you receive the phone on the 8th April say, would you then phone up O2 and request it be unlocked?
Then when do you phone O2 to pay off the phone balance?
Then next day or whenever, phone up to cancel the airtime contract yeah?
You reckon the headphones claim will still be honoured?
And you can do all that with no quibble/fees etc before any more money is taken by O2?
Many thanks in advance.

Ignore the 'Airtime' part of the contract.. you can cancel this anytime after you've paid off the phone.
What you pay is: £79.99 upfront plus £13 x 24 = £312 = £391.99
Basically do this. Take out the contract, pay the upfront amount. Once you receive it, call up and pay off the outstanding handset amount (£312). By doing this, you're free to cancel the remaining airtime contract, penalty free.

In the event that a rogue staff member stole your details too, then you're bank should have your back.
6 minutes 20 seconds into the call was paid off and service cancelled.
Mine got disconnected right away (even though they said up to 2 hours).
I just spoke to o2 chat who told me that for those who had ordered online but opted for click and collect - that you can collect your headphones instore. They did apologise for not contacting me and making me aware that they are available but i assume others may have fallen to the same poor communication from o2. worth chatting online and confirming but i'm a little peeved off.
Does anyone have screen bleeding or screen blooming problem? I have some but not too bad, not sure if it's worthy to ask for a replacement.
On a side note, if anyone is interesting in swapping the headphones for the Cam+ module, give me a shout.
EDIT: Forget what I just said literally just got the delivery email.. about 2 mins after posting this.... are they watching the thread? :P
If you get hold of one should work on EU model fine.
It comes with the module too?
Happy days
if it doesn't work try multiple devices, maybe your phone, try incognito too. But it works absolutely fine for me
Unless anyone else had an email or you get a response from LG I guess we just have to wait...
On https://lgg5promotion.com/o2/ says that the headphone is only for pre-orders between 24.03.16 – 07.04.16 only.
While the Cam Plus is for 08.04.16 – 27.04.16 only
You have to pay at least 1 month of airtime from my experience. They bill that as soon as your phone arrives.
You need to keep contract for 14 days then you can apply for free headphones and once you get confirmation email you can go off to a different network.
Heck I already put in my code on the website to claim for the headphones which we can't do till the 22nd so not sure how that is going to go when I try and enter the info again.
Edit: link here sounds like good news http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,question=ref(User):str(Mobile),CASE=21629
Nevermind...realised this was to do with Google's new gamer id system. Once you choose one it merges your existing stats with it.
And hmm will have to see what happens with the headphones, I must admit I already used the redeem site, though I assume I can just put in my details again after the 22nd.
So the G5 is paid off i will gave it to me mum.
Does this work if I buy the contract using a third-party like 'mobilephonesdirect'? I really want the LG G5 in gold. Also is this airtime buy-out process available on all other providers?
Thanks.
Thanks
Fortunately I don't have the problems others have had - light bleed and poor gaps. I'm going to keep it because in general I like it (especially the wide angle lens) and it is a great price for a latest flagship, but I do have to say that in general the build is less than premium...

Looks like HTC10 is a winner according to all the review sites. May wait for it.
This must be one of the worst product launches ever, and from what I can tell it's not even been that popular so who knows what would be happening had it been in demand.
Also there are phone availability issues at the moment so there will be delays for delivery, I spoke with o2 today and thet are expecting stock "this week". I hadn't heard anything by Friday last week but then received an email just before lunch to say it was available to collect.
Ordered on Thursday, money gone still not dispatched.
Did you get any sort of confirmation that you had requested it? Email or text or anything? I didnt so just curious if it worked properly
Setting the phone up now, so no reviews yet, but it feels and looks much nicer than I was expecting from pics/videos.
I have not got any email/text regarding the delivery so the preventative did something in their system which will automatically sent me an email when the phone is in stock.
Applied the tempered glass that I have purchased here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252321433616
However it doesn't work very well due to the huge taper around the edges.
Can anyone suggest an alternative?
half tempted to return this and cancel, then re-order to get that
Ordered 25th
It now shows on my o2 account online, and I get the option to pay off the phone contract online. Does anyone know if I can do this online once I've got my unlock code, and then cancel the sim contract?

Case is not as premium as you may think

Even the LG G4 had a boot loop issue:

Hopefully the wait isn't too long. Fingers crossed before the 22nd.
Has anyone noticed that device cash price is £432 on the confirmation email?
Probably a bit of messing around, but well worth it considering the saving.
Also, quidco are offering £90 cashback at the moment on the LG G5, although whether that'll work with cancelling the airtime remains to be seen. Worth a try though.
As the device plan is a regulated credit agreement, O2 Refresh is subject to eligibility, credit checks and an affordability assessment.
edit - sorry just seen it at the checkout stage
Cheers

You can pay the device off at any time
You can cancel the airtime after this at any time at no cost
You WILL keep the headphones
better camera, better signal, better ergonomically
Otherwise, click get deal at the top of this page.
Find the tariff you want, select one with an upfront cost to save money.
continue through the rest of the purchase and now wait until the phone arrives (April 8th).
Then insert the sim card and and request o2 to unlock it for free.
Then pay off the phone and if you do then want to cancel the airtime contract (I am, giffgaff is cheaper), wait a day and cancel that.
The total spend is at least £768 not £391 like in this case of O2 Refresh.
why ? he is right about credit history.
That's my dilemma of the weekend, despite the fact I have my dissertation deadline on thursday, I think I have watched all youtube videos with lg g5
Selling headphones it will cost the whereabouts of 310-20, and is definitely worth it for the new release... this site is evil:(
O2 cashback should take 13 weeks (3 months) to come through but it will take longer, It will takes 5-6 months so you can cancel after you get it.
I just got £94 from them that takes 6 months.
2 Free Gift £0.00
1 LG G5 O2 Refresh Unlimited 24 Month 1GB £79.99
3 Standard Delivery £0.00
Could that be an ordering error, or is it 2 free gifts (headphones & cam plus)?
Purchase the phone and pay the upfront cost.
When received ask for an unlock. Any timescale to ask for or receive unlock ?
When unlocked phone and pay off remaining handset cost.
Next day phone and cancel airtime. Who do you phone and any restrictions or clauses that they may try and use ?
Was quite tempted, but now with the prospect of having to return the headphones, I might go with the £445 deal as at least it will be an international version. Dont particularly want to root this phone, not with Google Pay coming out next month.
"This promotion Free Bang & Olfusen Earphones (the "Earphones") when pre ordered & bought with the LG G5 device on O2 Refresh tariffs 1GB & above "
"In the event of cancellation or return of your Device or contract under O2’s Change of Mind period, you must also return the Headphones."
Does this mean you have to let it run for 14 days before you cancel the airtime?
Anyway just cancelled and re-ordered....
So you will have to pay £18 * 24 = £432, rather than £13 * 24 + £79.99 = £391.99 as shown in OP.
I chose the 500MB data tariff that for £79.99 upfront payment and £27.00 (£13 device plan + £14 airtime) instead.
(You have to click on the '+ Show More' button underneath the tariff options to see this)
Quidco also tracked at £50 successfully
Do you know what O2 are like when it comes to Android updates? Can't remember the time I bought a phone from a network as usually by sim free so get updates quickly.
My wife's noticed this thread now, hope I can convince her to do the same^^
Not guaranteed to pay out on these deals, but I've had it twice so far. A nice little bonus if it does!
When I last did my wifes phone she got £160 cashback!
Date: 18th June 2014 11:05:10
Retailer: O2 Mobiles
Purchase amount: £0.00
Cashback amount: £160.00
And no, you don't need to return anything to O2.
To be on the safe side, I'd cancel the direct debit.. On the first occasion I did this, they charged me but refunded after I contacted them.
After that I played it safe and cancelled the DD.
To this I want to add:
Do you insert the SIM card supplied with the phone before requesting an unlock code?
Do you have to return anything to O2 after airtime contract is cancelled and handset is paid off?
Should we cancel the direct debit with bank?
Thanks
I will now cancel my Amazon order...
I would suggest people transfer the number supplied to payg to keep it active.
This is not a deal
What you pay is: £79.99 upfront plus £13 x 24 = £312 = £391.99
Basically do this. Take out the contract, pay the upfront amount. Once you receive it, call up and pay off the outstanding handset amount (£312). By doing this, you're free to cancel the remaining airtime contract, penalty free.
Very tempted.
It does work, and i didnt have any problems doing it. Just make sure you pay off the phone before cancelling airtime-doing it at same time sometimes causes issues, and its worth paying off phone one day, and airtime day or so later.
Good price for phone too.
O2 offer this to get people to sign up to contracts, that's where they make their money.
Some people are happy to see out the contracts, you could get quidco on it too if you intend to do so.. you don't need to stay the full 24 months.. just wait till you get the quidco, then cancel (I did this last time).
