To celebrate international woman's day get a half price Femme Cup. Sounds weird but honestly one of the best things I've bought. Save a fortune on tampons etc and much better for the environment.
I heard they are doing one with tinsel on, for the Christmas period.

Wonder how long it takes FemmeCup to post these out? Thought the promo was just for one day but the 50% off is still ongoing on their site

These are great, must get the right size for comfort and no leakage, pre/post baby size.
These are much healthier than tampax and towels.

Ok, I've read every comment and still don't exactly know what this does. On that subject, why are adverts/marketing for 'feminine products' so vague?! Also, why is everything referred to as 'feminine products' or stupid wording like 'discreet towel'? Stupidness.

Fell for this last time it was on offer, and gave it a try when it arrived. It was quite painful to get in, and I started panicking when I could barely get it out again. Took quite a while, was rather painful, and if it had actually been full, the whole bathroom would have needed cleaning after. Guess if it works for some people, the concept is great? But reading some reviews after, I don't seem to be alone, so I guess it's not for everyone unfortunately. Just maybe a thing to keep in mind before buying.

I know the FemmeCup is advertised as one size only but maybe it's worth trying a Small variety (there's actually quite a few brands on the market now, MoonCup, DivaCup and others). But I could understand how your experience would completely put you off the idea.
I've never tried one (I was always fearful of having to empty it in public or wash it out and that put me off buying) - wondering about how much it holds and how I will get on. I know wearing tampons can exacerbate cramps for me but apparently this doesn't. Don't want it to get "stuck" or end up putting it in upside down (fingers can get quite slippery when heavy) :disappointed: Will find out soon!

My niece is only 17 so she is easily freaked out - I suggested she read the Amazon reviews but there was no talking to her.
Female menstruation isn't pleasant but it's a fact of life and it's not disgusting at all. Some people really need to grow up. Either that or just stay away from women, so you're not exposed to those "horrors".

My daughter also 17 feels the same, but she does use cloth san pro at home... especially overnight when it is more reliable than tampons.

9 Mar 16#58
I like the idea of these with them being safer than tampons it's just they're a faff to get in (i managed to get mine in upside down several times) and out and they need emptying too frequently and i don't suffer with a heavy flow, I got one of the generic ones linked to earlier and never really got on with it if only such a thing existed to make getting them in and out easier

On HUKD, post a lingerie thread or bra thread (I commented about sizing on one and got a rude PM from a guy!) or even mention periods and loads of men feel the need to comment. More men comment than women usually!

Shame people feel they are disgusting. A piece of cotton wool with a string inside is considered hygienic despite it shedding fibres which get stuck in the womb and being linked to Toxic Shock Syndrome. These are completely inert sillicon and cannot cause TSS. They don't dry you out and cause thrush or irritation.
They also do not need boiling and sterilising whatever anyone says. Just wash with plain unscented soap and rinse very well. You don't sterilise anything else that goes up there, do you?

My missus puts hers with the other cups in the dishwasher.
"Femmecup LITE is the new menstrual cup made of super soft, silicone reusable for 12 months. Femmecup LITE is unique in the menstrual cup market; it is a low cost option specifically aimed at women purchasing their first menstrual cup to `try out`.
Femmecup LITE looks exactly the same as Femmecup but it is a slightly finer, softer silicone (still FDA market approved medical grade). This means that Femmecup can offer it for a lower cost and the life span is still at least 12 months. Femmecup LITE is also an ideal option for teenagers, petite women, women that like to renew their cup more regularly than every 10 years and women with very light flow."
I'm guessing the LITE is less durable (?) and as it says "low cost option" is likely less of a bargain as the ordinary FemmeCup.
Another Edit: From reading around so far, I can see some are recommending the Lunette for heavier flow. One Amazon reviewer soaks the FemmeCup in sterilising fluid around 10 minutes (Milton's or generic), then washes with mild soap. It's reckoned soaking for long periods in sterilising fluid discolours the FemmeCup.
Most report that they empty it twice a day (my fear about using this was having to clean it out in a public toilet - though some say they just carefully wipe it with loo roll in the cubicle).
I've ordered for my younger niece from Amazon as she's in bed and if she finds it yukky I can cancel (as it's temporarily out of stock )!
