Was £69.99, now £34.99 in the sale. Use fast track to order and get £1 off, the use code HOME25 to get it for £25.24. Could possibly use the 10% quidco offer and the HOME25 code in store to get it cheaper.

The idea is to put the waste IN the bin, not ON it. If you do this there's no more need to wash your hands after touching the bin lid than after touching anything else in the kitchen.

Ive picked mine up, its not soft close, its the classic version. That said I like the metallic grey colour, not going to have finger marks showing up. Im using mine as my recycling bin so I don't use bags just lift the inner out and carry straight to my bin outside. For the price I can't complain, especially with 10yrs warranty.

For those that have received theirs, is it soft close or not please?

Ordered on Saturday on "Fast Track". I received an email saying that the item would be available on Tuesday. I turn up at Argos on Tuesday only for the guy at the Fast Track desk to say the item is not available, could I wait for a while until after 5. I replied that I could not, came home and cancelled the order on the phone, telling the customer services person that I wouldn't be ordering from Argos again.

Returning it. This is actually classic pedal bin not the silent pedal bin. In the argos description it said silent closing mechanism, but this bin doesn't have it. Not worth £25.

Who do you contact if you need to call upon them for any faults within the 10yr guarantee. I ordered through fast track and didnt even get given a receipt at the store. Plus there are no papers in the box with the bin for the guarantee.
Its like a grey colour which i wasnt expecting. Build quality doesnt look any better than on the cheap metal £10-15 ones Ive had in the past from Asda etc (which generally fell apart after a year or two) and you need a firm push on the pedal to open the lid. Time will tell i suppose

Brabantia have amazing customer service. Go onto their website and all you do is request the part you need and its sent to you free of charge. Its done on trust that you have purchased the item within the 10 year guarantee

Not a very good bin. Wobbly and loose, also hard to clean. The plastic liner has a hole so you cant clean if by soaking in bleach by just filling it as if it were a bucket.

It's a relatively small bin and will get full pretty quickly through family use.
My current bin is 45L (50% bigger than this one) and that seems about right.

I have a 50 litre brabantia bin which I would say is full size for a family. It fits normal size refuse sacks perfectly.

26 Mar 16#91
No this definitely isnt. I bought one and was having to empty it every day or 2 and so annoying. I ended up getting a good deal on a 50l and does the job perfectly for us. I now use the 30l for my recycling. This is a great price but honestly a 30l doesnt hold much plus its so much narrower.

Just picked mine up, seems ridiculous to get excited but what an improvement on my cheap pedal bin it's replaced. Definitely a good size for £25. Looks the part too. Only downside is no free bin liner so need to wait for my delivery from Amazon for the size G liners it takes.

ive had both and the brabantia just felt like any other cheap push open lid bin apart from the body being metal.

Have had two 30L Brabantia for about 10 years now, they're fine and used daily. When there was an issue with the lid closing, I just emailed them and they sent new bits to replace in the lid no questions asked. In the end didn't need them, it fixed itself.
The original Brabantia bags are quite cheap on Amazon, also on subscribe and save.

I have both. Love the Brabantia. Hate my stupid Simplehuman 40 litre rectangular white bin. It is made of a strange textured plastic which is virtually impossible to clean and the metal handle and pedal had pitted marks on it from about three months old. (No chemicals used on it).
Skyhiigh
26 Mar 16#75
Great deal. We've always bought cheap £10 pedal bins from the likes of Asda but they always break in 12-18 months (pedal or pedal mechanism goes).
Everyone I know with a Brabantia hasn't had a problem with them (ones even 11 years old).
More expensive upfront but better value long term and less hassle!
I've been looking for a bin deal for months.
