There were loads of these in musselburgh extra store. I ended up buying 2 for me and got one to give to granny too!

Thread is hilarious! I wonder how we all survived through the decades of no seat belt laws, i remember parents sticking kids in boots while 12 adults crammed into a Princess.
I vote we bubble wrap all vehicles and no more than 3 cars on the road at any one time.

Having seen a britax video on these seats in a crash test I'm surprised they're even still on sale.

Surely booster seats serve a purpose as a transition from high backed child seats to no child seat at all? I cannot see many 9-11 year olds wanting to have a high-back seat.
Also, a campaign called "Bin the booster seat" sounds like profiteering, and potentially irresponsible, when promoted by a manufacturer who sells child seats. Perhaps lobbying of parliament to change the rules would be more appropriate...if there is a genuine independent research driven motivation for doing so.

Indeed, but frozen dinner munchers living on benefits for 4 children don't really care.
High-back seats offer more protection so should be the seat of choice, however better to have a booster than nothing at all.

Thank you HAYBR. I never knew that they where that dangerous. Yikes. We've got a 2 year old and 6 week old and they will 100% be going in a high back chair now when they get older.

These seats are not safe at all...however, Halford are doing 20% off good car seats if you trade these boosters in. Worth buying just to get the Halfords discount!.... and stop these awful boosters being sold to the unsuspecting!

I have two Britax high-back seats in my car for my two girls, but it can be a pain if the kids need to travel in another car, especially a smaller one. These seats are great for an emergency but I wouldn't use them all the time.

I use them for the school run and for taking my neighbours boy to school. any longer journeys I use the high back. But these are really handy to have about.

Can't believe people still actually put their children in these.

They were going to ban them a while back but it's not happened yet

I cringe when I see booster seats pop up. They should be band! They offer absolutely no protection at all to a child using it. It simply puts the child in a higher seating position. A high back has side impact protection to protect the vital organs. They also have head protection to protect the head from injury.

I cringe when people drive cars without 20 air bags, mine has them everywhere, but its your choice if you risk side impact to your kids without them. Oh well its up to you.
