The lowest price of the card alone currently is £284.99 so for £24.90 (including delivery) more you get a Kingston 240GB SSD (lowest current price £54.99) and 2 new/recent games. If you don't need/want them you could sell each for £10 or more and you're in profit, thought you'd likely be able to sell them for more than that.
You could say the same for pretty much every consumer component

Its £263 here. (if you dont want the SSD, but do want the games)
This was around 291 with a free SanDisk 240 ssd on ebuyer a little while ago. Snapped it up. for those who asked, yeah it runs really quiet. actually pushes 4k30 solid in the crew wild run and FO4 with very little aa. Runs everything flawlessly in qhd with aa. Though got it running at 1440 gpu and 8000 memory.

I've an FX6300 @4.5GHZ, 16GB of Ballistix Sport (doesn't run off that rail anyway) and a HD 7870 Tahiti overclocked all in a cheapo Biostar A880GZ board and it's all rock solid thanks to an Enermax Infiniti 720W, I highly recommend those PSUs

I never said elsewhere was selling at this price but a 3.5GB full speed GDDR5 video card with no ASYNC compute for new games where an AMD 4GB 380x (£200) has been shown to be hot on its tail performance wise in new games is not a deal at this price.
You will make £50 back max after fees selling the games and SSD on if you choose to, making the GPU £260 alone.
£260 on a piece of hardware which is going to be outdated QUICKLY in typical Nvidia fashion is not a good deal.

22 Mar 16#54
Im not knocking it, but it is a 1080 card by design and i do wonder how it will perform for the oculus rift when the res is higher and the frames have to stay above 90. I think they made the 970 the recommended spec just because its popular and affordable. Hasnt the 970 got the highest percentage of users on steam compared to other cards? 980 might be more realistic for minimum spec for VR
Tyranicus66
22 Mar 16#55
I know. Just don't like the dishonesty of it. I am still on a pair of 780Ti so have not upgraded yet but team green are beginning to cheese me off. Word is they have delayed the next chip to further pressure AMD's empty bank account - the user does not seem to matter anymore.

I had that exact situation when my ASUS 670 broke 2 years into a 3 year warranty only 6 months ago. 48hrs is bull****. Took at least 2 weeks for them to send anything out and what they sent was a broken 770. The thing was physically damaged to the point it wouldn't even fit into a case or motherboard. They were very insistent on not taking it back and tried to convince me that "that's what most replacements look like". I had to fight for another week to agree on a partial refund. On sending it back it got "lost in the post"; my mistake on not posting it with insurance but i've never had anything go missing until this. I suspect they didn't want to proceed with the partial refund they agreed to and once they saw it wasn't posted with insurance just binned my claim since I couldn't prove otherwise.
I won't ever be using them again. I had a similar experience before that when I ordered a case which arrived broken and they sent me out a replacement which was also broken. OCUK gets a lot of praise but my experiences with them have been nightmares.

GPU Technology Conference Nvidia's presentation in 2014 for the announcement of Pascal (formally) and 2015 on the keynote. Mainly due to the different architecture (nvidia link). nVidia mentioned the performance gains multiple times throughout 2015.
If you consider even the GPU roadmap chart, there will be a high performance improvement between Pascal and Maxwell, much higher than there was between Kepler to Maxwell.

I play most games at 3840x2160 with my 970 I also crank up the graphics with sweetfx. Witcher 3, metal gear 5, FIFA 16 look superb maxed out. They run without any problem. I have to drop Gta5, dirt rally down to 2750 x 2048 to max them out. I don't play anything at 1080p because I can push everything I've got well above that. The 970 is a brilliant card. The divisions graphics are nowhere near as good as any of the game listed above. It also runs effortlessly maxed out 3840.

It's not a double standard. It's the same standard.
Think of it as something like this. Every once and a while, people can tolerate poor behavior and a bad attitude. Every once in a while, people might push the boat a bit too far and be slightly rude.
He shouldn't have called you that, sure, I agree. But people forgive that when it's not the status quo behavior.
This is an NVIDIA thread, people knew you'd show up and say something ridiculous, despite that the deal is actually amazing if you want the items listed.
A good price for a 970, right now, is about 250. 240GB SSD is 45. The division is 28. Farcry Primal 30.
So, if you actually want all 4 already, you are saving 353-310=43 quid.
That's a pretty good deal.
So no matter what you typed about reselling pieces, and hating on the 970, and saying it will be bad in soon, and that the 380x is 'on it's tail' on performance... All of that doesn't even matter. It's a great deal.
But then you tried to suggest that people would buy this and resell all the pieces! And further to suggest Farcry, an 240gb SSD, and The division is only worth 50 quid! Laughable man.
That's why people apply the same standard to you. You've burnt the bridge of reasonable discussion. You are expected to enter an NVIDIA thread and badmouth NVIDIA. Read the comments before yours.
You've become a bit of a constant in NVIDIA threads. We know you'll show up, without fail, and say ridiculous things like:
So, we've held you to the same standard as everyone else.
Wow Ferrari, you're getting desperate. Posting a WCCF article that itself claims is 100% rumour, meaning 100% unsubstantiated when posted on their site, just because you dislike nVidia?
Seems very pathetic and petty.
Good deal for anyone interested in this card and the freebies. Can't beat saving money on things you want

I have this card - performs well, but now isn't a good time to buy. The AMD RX 480 is out in a few weeks and is rumoured to be faster (or at least match) this card, and will be considerably cheaper. At least do yourself a favour and wait to see what the real performance turns out to be of that card.

Seems very pathetic and petty.
Good deal for anyone interested in this card and the freebies. Can't beat saving money on things you want
It clearly frustrates you.
Sounds like Asynchronous Compute may not be all that you've hyped it to be!
5-10% increase in Hitman, while that's what AMD considers to be the 'best yet'.
