About Your Pockit Prepaid Card:
Pockit cards look like many credit or debit cards, with a card number, chip-pin and signature strip. You can access your personal card section online where you can manage your money and your card facilities. To log in, simply click the ‘Login’ button at the top of the pockit website and enter your email address and password you set up, then follow the steps. (note you can change this password once you have logged in by clicking card settings from the menu.)
How to load money onto your Card:

Becareful with this card, my son wasn't old enough for a current account and a debit card, so we got him one of these for pocket money, and we had constant problems with the company losing transactions and it took 3 months per transaction to investigate and another 30 days to get a refund!! if you doubt me, check their forums out, hundreds of complaints and there websites feel like someone stopped making them 80% through.
thankfully he is now old enough but id never use Pockit again.. terrible customer support.
Id recommend a Revolut card 100% over this.

You can use this in shops and online where places don't accept PayPal.
I have one, got it after someone bought a £600 watch on my card. I suspect my details got stolen from one of those cheap online stores that sell steam keys.
I always use this now when buying something online from a company that I'm not 100% sure about in terms of online security.

Looks like a great idea for kids spending money. Anyone know if it has contactless?
JonG to sherbolton
30 Mar 161#6
I have one and it 's not contactless. It's over a year old though so maybe newer ones are ?
It's a very useful card for purchases online (foreign sites, companies you've never heard of etc.) when you are a bit suspect of using your main credit card. You can just load this card up online (instant transfer from a debit card), with just enough ££'s for your purchase, and then relax about giving all your credit card details out.
The online statements are very good too, they show all recent pending transactions within a few minutes.

Apart from the free £5.00 I can't see this being better than the Revolut Card, especially since Revolut has no fees for purchases or ATM withdrawals abroad.

Is that just for the first year ? - it looks like they're starting to charge now over £500. A few complaints about using this card abroad too (halfway down this link) :-
100% agree , Revolt is the best card so far with no fess even for ATM

Short version: no, it won't. With this card you're spending your own money. The credit card protections only arise from the fact that you are spending someone else's.

I haven't had an issue with the card to date, and I am using it now in Ireland. That £500 limit might be a problem for some, but I doubt that I'd ever get to the point of withdrawing that amount abroad. I wouldn't trust any such cards as the sole source of money abroad though.

tell me about it. I actually wrote a review over half a year ago. Avoid this card at all cost.
I know this is digging up the dead with 9 month gone by, but can you clarify these problems please. Are you talking about cashback on transactions not being paid and that you had lots of hassle and waiting before you were ever paid the cashback?
Or were you saying that for some reason money was being deducted from the card even though you hadn't authorised the payment?

so basically you have to load a tenner but you have 14.01p to spend is that correct? and I guess if the item you want to buy is £20.00 you can pay the £5.99 on a different card?
so its £4.99 for filling out a form? does it register on Experian?, not that I'm bothered just curious.
If it is just £4.99 for filling out a form & then use credit can I destroy it, no junk mail etc, because I WONT USE IT AFTER superivanho's review

That should be a warning to everyone. I am sure they will say it is government policy or regulations that they must determine your identification but then who ensures they have policies in place to maintain your data. Dont even say the data commissioner which is a complete joke.
Stick with a company that does not ask for this or if it does make sure it is a more recognised brand. Your data once lost or stolen is going to be a stain on your record for life.

I've got a Pockit card and i've had endless problems with them. Customer service is terrible so if there is a problem expect the runaround. Don't load too much on the card as they will want for some reason to see loads of ID. Some (insert swear word here) at customer support terminated one of my cards without discussing it with me first. I'd avoid this lot as i do not trust them with my money.

The one I ordered via imutual arrived the other day and I used it yesterday. Loaded immediately on buying and no issues. £8.20 tracked ok, but no t&c's like Quidco or TCB. I'm taking no chances and will load twice and spend five times in the first month. See how this goes and then if ok, I'll order a few more.
