My favourite is the first - best SF horror I've ever seen - although The Thing ('82) pushes it close.

The first film is great so it was amazing that the second was so good. (But then it went a bit tits up imo)

I'll just throw some love in for Alien 3, especially the extended cut. I think its pretty underrated. As a standalone film, David Fincher turned in a pretty effective, atmospheric and unique horror/thriller. The main thing that lets it down are the shoddy effects in a few scenes, especially the end which almost looks like a cut-scene from an 8-bit video game.

Just bought the six disc version on blue ray today. Heard the extended version is pretty good and improves on the thertrerical version. Though not the best, I too quite enjoyed Alien 3. So looking forward to watching the extended version. :smile:

Even by today's standard, Aliens has aged extremely well. One of my fave films ever. Thumbs up!
