I've became a grandad a couple of weeks ago. My lad and his wife were buying some fancy nappies but we're surprised at how quickly they were going through them. So earlier this week I took down a packet of Aldi Size 1's and they're every bit as good as the expensive ones. I even changed one myself (you never lose the knack do you!) and yes, they work fine. The little fellow also contributed to the product testing by doing a 'Hector Salamanca-esque' noisy, wet one while I was holding him. Bless...

I never understand people who buy pampers etc (or any expensive brand) Aldi nappies always win in tests, and smash them in price...

anyway, just be aware having had a baby on Friday, there are two version of size 1, the one with the little bit to fold under the cord and the other without :smiley:

We use these too, can't fault them. We tried pampers but didn't like them, we didn't think they were as good. Looks like a trip to aldi is on the cards today :smiley:

Got my oldest daughter (took 7 years getting her), then went 10 and a half years and had my little boy, then went only 3 and a half years and got my little girl :laughing:

I'm due in 3 weeks and so many people that we know have rated them. And they were so cheap at the price of £1.49 so I went yesterday to stock up on a few size 1 packs and they had gone down! How life has changed and I'm getting all excited over nappies being cheaper

How many packs of size 1 and 2 should I stock up on before baby arrives.
I've got 7 packs of 24 size one so far

The closest we got to experimenting with different brands when our kids were younger was a few tries with Huggies. We never liked those much so assumed lesser brands would be even worse! :disappointed:

Bargain !!! I am due in 5 weeks and have used Aldi before didn't rate much of them when I used them with my daughter. I may get a pack to keep in though x

I'm a fan of both Aldi and pampers. I used the Aldi nappies up until size 2-3. After that the Aldi nappies seemed to be pretty hard/stiff so we changed to pampers.

Planning a trip on Saturday as my 3 week old only has 1 packet left. We love them! I've used one pack of Pampers (and will probably have to resort to the second pack I already bought tomorrow) but we infinitely prefer Aldi - Psmpers have a weird net lining that sticks to his bum when its dirty :confused:

The Aldi nappies are superb - every bit as good as pampers IME.

When our little ones got bigger, we switched to the Sainsburys Basics ones. These are only available in size 5 - but can be used from earlier than you'd expect - and are cheaper than Aldi but still good. The Tesco value ones are total rubbish, as (oddly) are Lidl's.

I've tried Aldi's, I prefer Pampers. I ain't no snob though, too much of a common Northern bird haha

Having a baby soon and no not going to use Aldi nappies as our friend works at a nursery and says almost all of the parents there have stopped using them because they leak

Absorbency of Aldi nappies beats Pampers, however after a faulty batch resulted in plastic absorbancy beads all over my daughter night after night I gave up and went back to the 'best'. Great price though - heat.

aldi nappies all the way cheap and cheerful.

Love the newborn Aldi ones....they just don't agree with my son now he's bigger. Will certainly be first port of call with this one though

I have to say aldi nappies have gone way downhill in the last year, i used to swear by them and recommend to everyone, i am now using asda "supreme protection" during the day and a single pampers babydry at night as it really does hold more wee (my baby pees through cheaper brands at night as he sleeps 13 hours minimum)

I am no brand snob but i think after also won all those awards 1 and 2 years ago, they cut production costs somewhere because i find they now leak, not often but enough to be a problem.

Brilliant nappies especially size 1and two. Both have a blue line wet indicator, so no more disturbing baby too much just a quick look to see if a blue line. If it's blue you know what to do. A good indicator to move up a nappy size is when the explosive poos come out of the side and waist band getting tight or on slickest setting. The size 3 are extremely absorbant and will last all night unless poo is involved. Sadly size 3 has no blue line indicator. We got pampers in our bounty pack and preferred the Aldi ones. Was given some morrisons own brand which where just rubbish so we gave them away
