Just seen a similar deal for Iceland so thought i'd share these as they are 100% chicken breast with NO ADDED WATER OR SALT.
They come in 700g bags which are currently on a 3 for £8 offer. Works out at £3.80 per kg. I've been using these for months an they are great. They say cook from frozen but i always defrost and cook then as normal. Worth stocking up with the offer being on.

Really? Because I've never seen so much water come out of frozen chicken as that which comes out of tesco's frozen chicken. They must have some magical process that crams it into the meat.

Do you mean these ones? If so I've never had that problem and the packaging states no added water.

I've just tried the Costco chicken and the quality is superb and better than any chicken I have had from a supermarket and works out @ £6.00 per kilo delivered for 10 kg which all fit in a freezer shelf so will not take all the room up:
Costco rotisserie chickens are very good, too - much larger birds than Waitrose, Sainsbury, Morrisons......I've weighed a couple after getting them home and they're typically 1.3kg and cost about £4.80

I have never had a frozen chicken breast - are they 'drier' than usual when defrosted?

Depends on how you cook them. I buy fresh & then freeze them. If I cut them into chunks, then they can dry out. Leave them as whole breasts & the retain moisture quite well. Could just be my cooking technique though.

i find them to be absolutely fine, I defrost then cook as normal, either oven or in the frying pan. used them in sauces, wrapped in parma ham and in fajitas and all great.

to be honest, he has a point because the packaging is very similar on the two packs and in the same freezer section. I have picked up the wrong one before now and only realised when I opened the bag, tried them and they were vile so I always check I have the 100% one now.

I have absolutely no problem being proven wrong but please clarify for me just to entertain us both. I see you added "that I have personally tried" on the end there.
This was not relevant to the post as you are talking about a different grade of chicken entirely. This is like someone saying "Grade A Chicken on offer", then you say "Just so you know, Grade B, chicken is horrible". Related in as much that they are both Chicken but not related to the actual deal product. Nobody had mentioned the cheaper meat beforehand so this was just out of the blue.
You made a contribution to a non existant discussion about another product entirely. As someone who has never purchased frozen chicken however, I now know to avoid it as I'll always heed your warning
I accept my initial comment was off the mark.
PS: Sorry about the other guy, we're not related.

Much appreciated. I must remember next time there's a deal on a certain supermarket product to post on that thread expressing my opinion about a totally different product sold by the same supermarket. I'm sure someone will find that helpful.

Cant believe I'm even replying to this, but ah well, why not.
"Just as a heads up, Tesco's cheaper frozen chicken is by far the worst out all the supermarkets" is what I said.
Key word was "cheaper", which would imply a different product from this deal obviously. This was in the context of the thread's discussion about different supermarkets adding water to chicken. You would of understood had you read the thread or had a basic comprehension of the English language. Thank you for both your inputs though, they really added to the discussion. I'm glad 2003bluecat understood me, thanks

I use these from frozen in the slow cooker they're great. Stocked up last week.

But this deal isn't for " the cheaper tesco chicken with added water" which makes his/her point even more irrelevant.

No, he/she said they hadn't tried the chicken this deal refers to.
The chicken which is the worst he/she has ever tried is the cheaper tesco chicken with added water.

No, you said it was the worst out of all supermarket chicken then you said you hadn't tried it, which makes your point meaningless.

That's not what I said. I said the cheaper stuff is the worst out of all supermarket frozen chicken I have personally tried. But thanks for your contribution to the discussion

Just as a heads up, Tesco's cheaper frozen chicken is by far the worst out all the supermarkets, full of water which makes he chicken a weird consistency. Haven't tried this stuff though!

Thanks, order coming tomorrow so have added these on!
Usually buy their tray of fresh chicken breast for £5.50 but gotta use it fairly quickly. Handy to buy frozen.

That is why i started getting these, only two of us so i used to buy a large fresh pack and then freeze what we didn't use before use by date anyway. Saved to more hassle.
