really they have been over £3 for a while and even higher, ebay was the same, prices rose up to Christmas, back down now to the price they should be but have certainly come down in the last few days.

AAA's are a similar price - however the speed of delivery from BW (for me anyway) is dire! been 2 weeks since order and still got 6 days to wait according to my Amazons order history.

I had similar experience.. Bought for the kids toys and had to nip out and buy 20 AA to go in those darn buggies (rechargeable here I come) good price/quality though if your not in a rush.

Yes agreed. I've got 50+ Eneloops and Vapextech's, but still buy Alkaline's for low drain applications. I know this kind of defeats the point of an LSD rechargeable, but a 10-pack of Ikea's AA batteries only costs £1.50, and they've performed well against other brands as shown here:

So for things like clocks, remote controls, calculators, timers etc, an Alkaline would last for at least a year or 2. I can buy 50 Ikea batteries for the same price as 4 Eneloops!
