Cheapest I've seen this now the exchange rate has caused a price rise in Chinese phones.

Wife and Daughter has the Xiaomi Note 2, these phones are completely insane value for money versus what we have as "main brand" offerings.
Just let me say, a Xiaomi note 2 (£94) with a £3 metal case and a £1.47 toughened glass screen protector went down 3 flights of concrete steps.............dented the metal case.............thats it.
My other daughter knocked her Sony off the arm of the couch.................shattered the screen.
My £8 Xiaomi powerbank is excellent quality and charges my devices quickly.
My £20 Xiaomi router extends further than my Netgear and was AC.
Horses for courses, of course, but i cant find fault with Xiaomi products

Unless someone knows a surefire way of avoiding customs then I think people need to start adding import tax and handling costs to these Chinese deals. This could easily cost you £30-40 more...

Still 1/3 of the price against phones at our market compering the performance if you get software right. Owning Note 2 from Goldway no Vat being charged and hardly heard anybody being charged unless you get via DHL

go for the silver version of you don't want the plaid design on back.
I had the note 2 for a short while and it was great, supports otg so memory wasn't as bad as it could have been, only real problem is the heavily laden os, bloatware galore, first thing anyone should be doing is browsing xda forums for a better rom

don't pay for fast delivery and its highly unlikely that you will get hit with customs duty.
I've had 3 phones and not had to pay extra. its part of the risk yes, but a very very small risk, and usually if someone doesn't know about the customs duty issue, they will read either on the sellers website or through own research.

Never paid duty from china on over 10 handsets. Pure luck maybe but if sent via normal tracked post you usually don't get stung. If you choose DHL then much more likely.

Totally agree. I guess it all depends on if you are prepared to work a bit to save arguably 200+ pounds. I am a recent convert to Chinese mobiles and now would never buy a mainstream UK-sourced phone again. But Xiaomi are much less of a risk than the smaller supliers given the fact they are one of the world's biggest mobile companies and seem to support their products really well.

Same but would only buy well checked and supported mobiles that is why I picked Xiaomi after 2 months of consistent reading and not all their models are perfect and only few brands in China are commited to build customer base. Would not buy Elephone for example.
