Went into Asda and asked about cheap vodafone handsets on PAYG for my little girl. They showed me what they had then said they had some clearance Vodafone Smart 4 mini's available at just £15.00! Thought it was a bargain for a smart phone.

Bargain! Vodafone Smart phones are very good. I had one for work and was sorry to leave it when I changed jobs.

I really wouldn't call this one good. Its not a bad deal, just dont expect to get much done with it

No offence but thats not particularly informative.
Its up there with 'red cars go faster' .
Which particular 'smart' phone did you have?

Very fragile build. Even 15 is too much.

Not true, my son has had one for over a year now (first mobile), dropped man times and still working fine with no damage.
I have put it in a £5 case from Amazon and put a screen protector on it, but its so light, when it's dropped it doesn't get any damage.
Would highly recommend this for a first child mobile.

Great little phone if you don't expect too much. Have this as a backup. Battery lasts a week turned on but not being used, good signal strength and can be unlocked for 99p on ebay. The touchscreen is a bit unresponsive but you'll struggle to find anything better at this price.

That comment can be rather misleading. Unlocking this phone depends on the particular IMEI.

Bang a high capacity micro SD card in, some reasonable headphones, turn off mobile phone settings and you have a good music player.

good point, well made. If this was a sansa clip MP3 player people would be going crazy for it at this price.

Great price for a basic app phone, or even a home remote control for your gadgets with no sim, or with a sim for a house phone and remote

need something to replace my "gumtree" phone, an old san francisco which is having charging issues. Is this phone unlockable? and is it usable for just gmail, sms and reminders? I know it'll "work" but I dont want something terribly slow.
