Virgin Trains' Big Spring Seat Sale has ALREADY kicked off from today to Thursday 3 March, with prices on 800,000 seats across First and standard class slashed on the rail operator’s West Coast Mainline.
The Virgin network are offering bargain fares from as little as £4, for travel between 18 March and 2 May - but railcards cannot be used on top of the sale
Fare examples: Manchester/Liverpool - London £10
Edinburgh - London £14
London - Birmingham £4 etc

(b) entering your Virgin Flying Club OR NECTAR # to get some credit on those too
[my Nectar a/c details show it's DOUBLE normal points when buying SALE tickets too and a later poster had bonus points too!]

No repost, just helping the public by informing them it has ALREADY started unlike the post you pointed out which stated tomorrow.
I can't find cheap tickets. I'm off work weekend 19th-20th March and 9th-10th April. I live in Rugby. Tried London, Manchester and Edinburgh and all full price..... Help please.

That'll be because the sale has ended and all the cheap tickets have gone.
If you want a trip to London try London Midland trains instead, they're usually cheaper than Virgin, but slower.

Yes I certainly feel screwed - booked 2 weeks ago following their book early for the best price advice and paid more than double the sale price. I have complained as I in order to get that "Best"!! fare I had to book a train earlier than I wanted AND with a change of train. I doubt if any refund will be forthcoming as on the bottom of the BFF there are the initials T&C which is a (hidden in my opinion) dropdown which says sale fares may be cheaper than the BFF.
I have suggested to them that they should advertise the sale BEFORE the services covered appear on the BFF.
On getting back from my holiday I find if I had waited I could have gone on the 1 hour later DIRECT train that gets there only 7 minutes later than the early one and for less than half the price.
Just to rub it in I have now looked for an advance ticket for the home journey which is outside the sale period which means it is £123 as against the £10 sale price. Incredibly the First class advance fare is less at £103.

It's Virgin Trains - the original ie West Coast lines operator; and not the later "Virgin Trains East Coast" franchise holder that covers Doncaster.

If i lived in Doncaster, i'd happily pay £288 to move to Edinburgh

Thinking ahead can save you some serious pocket money. The further in advance you book, the cheaper your tickets. Our Standard and First Class tickets are released twelve weeks before departure, and that’s when they’re at their cheapest.

Whenever there's a sale of any kind people who paid the higher price will feel aggrieved, it's not just a Virgin thing.

I assumed if virgin operates out of Liverpool lime st they would have ticket offers, obviously I'm wrong!

29 Feb 16#27
The sale only applies to tickets on their trains. If you want a ticket for a route they don't serve you won't get the sale price.
You can do the journey using Virgin trains only, but you'd have to go the long way round via Crewe, and buy separate tickets for each leg.

This is for VIRGIN West Coast trains only. For a Liverpool to Llandudno journey you'd use Merseyrail to get to Chester, then change trains there.
