Sometimes you can't afford fancy meals out or expensive takeaways and have young children at home. So for me the idea of not having to cook and having a treat would be a nice gesture.

Looking at the options, there's an obvious reason that this is only £10! Should go well with the dozen roses at £3!! Think it's either M&S or Waitrose for me!!:smile:

Iceland are doing £10 meal for 2 inc a bottle of Prosecco. A starter for 2, two mains and one dessert for 2. Had their £10 Chinese meal for 4 which was 3 rice dishes, 4 main meals, and 1 pack of 30 spring rolls - top deal

The meal are 'meals for two' , but they very small and one side dish, tesco deal for £20 is much better.

They should move abroad

Even though this sounds like a good deal, but in the past Ive been stung by Asda's poor quality of food of their own brand.

Sometimes I think Asda has no quality control over their ready cooked meals.

For a special treat like Valentine's cook your own mains and buy dessert. Or spend a bit more and get a tasty meal from M&S or Waitrose for £20 which atleast from my experience has better standards of food quality.

This isn't a good deal at all! The M&S deal may cost twice as much, but M&S food is far better and also includes a starter, chocolates and a full bottle of bubbly AND caters for veggies!

Ha... I'd be over the moon if my other half bought one of these for us. I am making Sunday dinner tomorrow instead, just like every week... We both work weekends so I would love an opportunity not to cook tomorrow after work (especially before getting up at 6am the next day) but he wouldn't eat any of these main meals, as he only eats plain meat and veg.. And is also broke, well, more broke than me lol. So Sunday dinner made by me it is!

J20 is fine. Not everyone thinks that alcohol makes for romance. Not sure either what meal constitutes being a romantic meal, oh don't tell me, something unidentifiable with a sauce poured over it and a sprig of something green on it and a few brown blobs leading away, and taking up a 20th of the plate. :wink:

But, everything sold by everyone is a way of taking money from people. This is no different.
