Brilliant app, but let me give you one MASSIVE tip when using this app. If you find you can't grant root access when using super user or you can't click agree or yes in some apps, then the culprit is 100% this app, just disable it and then you will be able to click on the acknowledgement, this is my only gripe with this app. I've spoken to the dev about it and apparently it's an Android thing he can't get around.

But did you sleep well?

The fact he overspend by 2.89 will give him a few sleepless nights.

I've been using the free version for ages and find it great! If you're finding it too red, you can easily adjust it in the settings. The strength of the filter is totally up to you but it also uses your location to sync the filter with the sunset in your area. Steal at 10p for the pro version.

I have an S6 which is not rooted and Twilight has issues with confirmation boxes. If I disable Twilight then I can confirm the entry.

The issue highlighted is specific to rooted devices.

If you have android 5.1 it is already built into Android. Go to Settings > Display and Lights > Live Display.

I've been using the free version for 4 months now and it's fantastic. At that price it makes sense to upgrade to the Pro version. Great find and heat added.

Even if this red filter doesn't help (it does) it has options to dim the screen much more than the phones minimum brightness level which is great

Haha I've two babies under 18 months, this app is hilarious in my circumstance.

Easiest way to get to sleep is ask the wife what she has planned for the next day, 2 minutes later I'm off, must be some kind of defensive reflex .

I think f lux team already knew that on iOS, Apple like to add the system features. Apple's reason is that a badly designed system app would drain battery etc. I would personally prefer Apple to do it, that way you wouldn't have to install through a Mac or worse pay for it.

No, it's badly worded - it excludes the app prompts which cause problems, e.g. APK installer, root confirmation, permissions popups, etc. Works fine with normal 'apps use.

It can dim your phone further that the factory settings on your phone. I have synced with my Do Not Disturb so between 12am - 8am, phone will automatically dim and go on silent. Been using this set up for a while and seems to work for me.

Doesn't a wled backlight still produce the same light regardless of what's on the screen?

good to see technology companies have cottoned to incorporating this stuff in their devices, been using f.lux on my laptop for a while now and it really does make a world of difference

It's not an issue to just disable the app as it runs in the notification tray, then just re-enable it once you've confirmed the app selection.

Doesn't that, well, exclude apps from the filter? If you are not running the filter on top of apps then even 10p seems expensive. I have not yet installed the app, much less played with settings, so apologies if I had missed something.

Great app. Have used it for a few months and honestly, I think it does help (though, I've also given up Facebook which helps too!).

Was pondering about splurging £2.99 on it, but the Pro gave me nothing I needed, but at 10p, I can't refuse!

POO! bought this last night for 2.99!!

So it knows what time it gets dark where you are, so it applies the filter at dusk instead of lunchtime !!

FYI, while flux actually changes screen temperature to get the effect, this simply applies a transparent yellow/red layer over the screen which is not the same effect. It doesn't actually lower screen temperature - that is only available on android phones with root access in which case you should use: CF.lumen.

That's not to say it wouldn't help, it's just not as effective.

Just about to buy it -if it adds a filter to make it 'red' might be good for astronomy use and help keep night vision!

If you go on the play store and search twilight (not the films) and search through the images you'll see a map of the world and how it works. I used to use Bluelight in addition to f.lux on my PC and I loved the fact that it worked automatically. But a lot of the time it would be after nine o'clock and I'd realise I hadn't had the bluelight turned on on my phone so with twilight I set it to 1500k and forget it's there! :smiley:

I've been using the non pro for a while, the main difference for me is that with pro the app is disabled automatically when not in use (battery saving).

But yes, it seems to work, but i have a few issues with sleep of recent, so.. every little helps!

Ah I see, I guess that's why it needs access to location.

Why does it need permission to Location? To check if I'm in bed at the right time?

I use Blue light Filter, which is free and looks like it does the same thing.

I don't like the filter it applies. It still strains my eyes at certain times - there's too much red!

I prefer the standard screen filter app, although waiting for f.lux to come out for android
