would these be better than the Sony Playstation wireless 2.0 headset which I am currently looking to buy?

I'm stuck with the same decision but going to go for the SONY in the end. Reasons are they are better quality (these are apparently brittle) and the SONY are a 7.1.

defo go with Sony. I had a pair for over a year and they're fantastic. just don't overcharge the battery that's why I have had to get a new headset cause battery now lasts for half hour before I gotta charge again. I now have Astro A40 with mixamp pro.

Game.co.uk have them for a little over £58. Highly recommend the Sony pair. Really good sound quality. Ok custom sound profile support as well. Also works with PS3 PS4 and PC wirelessly. I sold my elite 800 because the sound pretty identical to the Sony pair. But has a extra few features over the Sony headset. However the features such as bluetooth is not worth over £100 more than the Sony 2.0.
If you have a CEX and GAME close buy. You can always buy a 2 or so copy's of COD Black Ops 3 for 360 for £12:49 from amazon. Print out the price CEX offer and take it to game and ask them to price match (CEX give £20). Making the headset even cheaper.

Definitely better to go with the Sony wireless headset if you have a ps3/4 and want to use the 7.1 sound. It's around the same price on Amazon regularly.
Both headsets have comparable sound though so this is a good deal!

i have the Sony wireless headset and the turtlebeach stealth 500p.
The 500p has excellent comfort, great audio, and the mic (according to online friends) is crystal clear. The mic can pick up everything which is great if I have to quiet my voice down when kids are sleeping, unfortunately there's no noise cancellation so the mic will stay active if my dryer is on.
The Sony headset has incredible features both on the headset and through the ps4 console. It has noise cancellation which the 500p is in need of, multiple audio presets which can be loaded using the console app, and great comfort. There's no mic boom stick so you have to speak up a bit (folks have a hard time hearing me when I quiet down: read the 500p section above). You have to be extra careful when placing and removing the headset as it has a weak spot where the earpiece attaches to the head rest band (Google this), Sony has failed to address this ongoing issue.
Both Headsets, whichever you choose (sony or turtlebeach 400/500) are incredible and both are wireless.
