And many understand it and are happy to pay less to get a card which is fast enough for them. I.e. my chromebook has a (****) card reader which tops out on 10MB/s anyway and i would like to put some movies or stuff on it so for me it doesn't matter at all.

Also if you have dual slot camera you can use this card as a backup or something.

I believe that if you need the speed of it for dlsr, 4k video, or recording raw images at crazy speeds you would know about it and simply buy a professional card which this is not, nor is it pretending to be.

To use in a phone for media, or even some apps this is plenty fast enough.

That said if you wait long enough you can probably pick up the sandisk equivalent which has something like 70-80MB/s read and 20-30 write for same price. But then this is not available now and this is...

Read speed is quite slow for 128gb. They didn't even tell us about write speed, that mean only one thing...it got crappy write speed.

Many avoid saying the write because a) its slow and b) many don't understand how important it is ..

hot price though. interesting feedback on write might not make it good enough for my asus t100? i have a 32 gb now i think but not sure what write speed is.

I am using a UHS1 card (sandisk) on my phone, I did not find the performance overtly restrictive. works fine. looks like a good find. well done.

I don't know a great deal about write speeds on cards but I have this exact model and it writes just under 650 mb a minute (large file sizes anyway) on my laptop. Plenty enough for most I'd expect.

Amazon also have a Patriot LX one for £29.99, up to 70MB/s read and 20MB/s write, 5 year warranty, so worth shopping around a bit.

UHS is the hardware interface standard - says nothing about speed other the maximum the interface can support.

The 1 in the U means it is class 1 and supports continuous writing at 10MB/s (the continuous bit being important for recording video). The only other class I have seen is 3 which means 30MB/s (implying it is OK for 4k video recording).

If you have a 4k camcorder, card write speed becomes critical.

Could someone use Crystal Diskmark test the small files ,4 k write and read speed please? I am looking for SD that can do about 2 MB/s speed for these small system files for use in tablets, smartphone and laptops.

Has anyone tried using this with a GoPro - is it fast enough?

Cheers, needed one for my DAP but was unsure about the cheaper Integral one posted earlier. Speed not important for my use, just capacity as my 64 GB has about 100mb left for a queue of FLAC and hi res files I'm trying to squeeze on.

The card brand new should be formatted as exFAT. It can be recognised by smartphones, tablets, Windows computers.

I do not understand how you get it full of data. If you format, the data will be lost.

Many thanks!, I meant that I have never tried to measure my SD cards speed, so not sure if I can do it now that I'm already using them without affecting the content that's saved inside?

For example, the micro SD card that I've got in my mobile is 64GB but I'm already using something like 60GB, just a few GB extra free. Could I use any of those tools to measure its performance without losing anything?
or would those programmes delete/format my SD card for checking its speed? (in which case I guess that information can just realistically be retrieved with a brand new card, not after a few months of usage as you won't want lose anything...)

64GB actually give you around 59.6GB.

If you have few GB left, should be fine to run tests.

Your contents will not be affected.
