Sizes 7/9/11/12 available. Use code GORE10 to get price shown. £1 C&C. Speed and traction on the toughest trails. The North Face bring their signature style to this rugged, lightweight, GORE-TEX® lined hiking boot
Proper Vibram sole, (IMO) nicer design & if my past experience is anything to go by, better build quality too.

I bought these last time they were cheap. they were never waterproof from day one. I've had goretex boots from other manufacturers that have been much better.

Yup, like the cheap Merrells that Amazon sell, the soles on these will be awful.
Always look for Vibram soles (or Contagrip in the case of Salomon). Even some of the more expensive Karrimors have them (not all Karrimor stuff is shocking)

Vibram soles all the way for me.
Cheap end for the brand.
Few quid more here for a decent boot:

Just an example-seeing its winter at the moment.:smirk:
The point was that for a similar or little more cost you can buy a decent branded boot.

You right. If you are in right moment on right place you can buy great boots for price of full tank of petrol. With online shopping is problem that most of people buy before try. Best is to go in shop in late hours because feet is in that time '' biggest'' plus use trekking socks. I learned painfully that even the best boots can kill the trip if it not fit to your feet. Salomon is great example, all of them are too narrow so if you have wide feet you will suffer a lot.
