I've got a Phillips Airfryer, but I'm still trying to understand the point. What exactly do these things do that a fan oven doesn't?

Store specific maybe, but if you live it that area it's a cracking find! Heat added

Seems to be the 1.5kg one.
Well done to the OP finding a bargain in Hatfield, I have never had any luck there with any of the wild goose chase items and assumed the staff there kept an eye on hukd....

Just used mine for the first time tonight. It made some really good homemade chips with very little oil, unlike oven chips  they were super crispy!

I'm also in the "don't get it" camp.... maybe it uses a special kind of hot air to cook food!

The Actifry turns chips/potatoes/sausages/whatever so they will come out 100% even. (don't do fish fingers/nuggets, etc, it'll strip the batter off them).
I 'think' the Phillips Airfryer is more like a halogen, where it blasts the food without moving it.
Have had two Actifrys for 4+ years and think they are extremely good. Had to replace 2 paddles and 2 lids on each, bu they were used daily, so no biggie.
