They had a huge palette stacked outside my local store, you have to root around for the good stuff (i.e. each box has different varieties).
Ones that are good for the bees include:
Sea Holly (Eryngium Planum) (3 big corms)
Mignon (Single) Dahlias (4 huge corms)
Liatris Spicata (50 bulbs) (These are 10 bulbs for 99p in Home Bargains, so quite a bargain)
Allium
Nothing beats sitting in your garden in summer, glass of cider in hand, watching the bees go about their foraging.

Eryngium
Single Dahlias (not the gaudy double flowered that bees can't get to the nectar/pollen)

Hot deal! Additionally it's nice to see people making wildlife-friendly garden recommendations. Save the bees! <3 A pretty essential species for pollinating our crops, yet facing a worrying decline in numbers.

Thanks! I read somewhere that bees have to fly more due to less for them to gather

Last year I wasted a few hours fishing from the harbour wall at St Ives and was surprised to see a regular stream of bees (one every few minutes or so) flying past. Wtf, I thought. What are they doing out here?

We got some last year and they're pretty good if you're prepared to wait a little longer. N obviously much better value than plugs or pots.
Cheers to OP for helping to help the bees!

Very good deal. You may want to pot them up now & store in a frost free place (with light) until all risk of bad weather has passed (depends on area). I believe that only the Dahlias are frost tender once established so you can either follow instructions widely available online or take your chances with a thick mulch.
Great bargain!

I was particularly impressed with the Dahlias, when I got home Mrs. Irrelevant commented on the size of my big Tubers. :smirk:

Very good deal, I wonder if they are free from neonics though? My spring flowering bulbs are all organic (certified to not contain neonics)
Well finding out that even bulbs and seeds are pesticide riddled is disturbing.I guess that rules out buying these Aldi ones. Where did you get those organic ones? Any good deals? :0 Cheers.

Seeds 19p/pack as well - grabbed one of any that I liked the look of, and ended up with a dozen packs... now does anyone have an offer on pots & seed trays.
