Banished is a city building game where you control a group of exiled people who are restarting their lives in the wilderness. They have only the clothes on their backs and a cart filled with supplies from their homeland.
The townspeople work, build, get older, have children, and eventually die. Keeping them healthy, happy, and fed are essential to making a successful town grow. Any structure can be built at any time, provided that your people have collected the resources to do so.
There are many occupations that the people can perform from farming, hunting, and blacksmithing, to fishing, teaching, and healing. You can choose to replant forests, mine for iron, quarry for rock, and more!
Picked this up in the Christmas sale, not loving it personally.
Quite a challenging slow game, need to regularly save as things can go sour quickly in your village!

Great game even with its small file size

Excellent game with many challenges, you have to 'learn to play' and adapt when things go horribly wrong at a drop of a hat.
Personally I would give this game 8/10

Well this is embarrassing, a game over £1.51 muddled up with the gems

Fantastic game. Built by a single developer as well.

The game has a learning curve. Once you get past that it's really bland without mods imo. Mods disable achievements, if you're into that sort of thing.

I'd give it 5/7. As someone else said it's a slow game but speed it up and the next thing you know your village is full of corpses. Not bad but I may need to look into mods to make it more enjoyable. I think Tropico 3 spoiled me...

Absolutely great game.
Things can go horribly wrong very fast, but in my opinion, it's the comfiest city builder there is.
