Oh great, another "today only - until next week" 480GB Sandisk plus for 80quid
Makes me wonder how many of these they have to sell... or if even at that price people aren't biting

This isn't a clearance these are being made by the 20000 and sold weekly for the proper price as they are made. Cheap to make cheap to buy. Probably worth about £20 less than this. You can get 256gb on a single tiny chip now and these with stacks and stacks of mass produced older 16gb chips are damn cheap.

Where do you store everything else? Videos, music, photos, etc... if you're using a laptop there's no difference whether or not it's an SSD or standard HDD, you'll need space. And with 240GB you can barely start keeping anything...

Is an extra 240 GB any better though really? If you store all your films etc on the system hard drive, you can only get a few more. I've got 10 years worth of photos, all my music
Plus all my system files and docs yet still only use about 80gb of my laptop's 500gb HDD. Films are all on an external hdd.

HDD if you're on desktop, for most people 240GB is about right for the OS, main apps, and games. A cheap 1/2TB 7200* rpm drive is good enough for most games and definitely good enough for your media. You can still do that on laptop with an external drive but for most people it's probably easier to just buy a bigger SSD depending on you're budget and how often you wanna access the other data.

I just don't get the people who store films on harddrive? As soon as I download one, I watch it, forget about it and just delete it. Do you store it so Maybe 5 years later you will want to watch it again? hint.. it takes 10minutes to download a movie even on a dsl now!

Same reason people buy DVDs, Blurays, Music Albums and Artwork.
