Thanks, just had the last 12 from Bangor, no more in North Wales now.
96 batteries for £9.48, should keep us going a good while.
This brand wasn't tested as part of this Battery Showdown thing, but it shows you the difference between the cheapest and most expensive Alkalines is minimal.
The rubbish ones at the bottom are Zinc ones, and the two highest Lithium.

Without trying to be too patronising.
Does your Xbox 360 take AA batteries?
Are these AA batteries?
Hopefully you can work out the rest....

They told me the date is part of the 5 year guarantee and the batteries will last for at least 2 years after the listed date anyway, but you cannot claim under the 5 year warranty.

They know that just as with so many other "guarantees" hardly anyone will bother to claim on them and they are just marketing.

Youre assuming they are all for me

Even more bizarre that you'd want 14 packs of 8 rechargeables!

If you read my previous post you'll see again that I thought they were rechargeables.when I bought them.
The fact they were past their expiry date as was able to reject them and get refunded

You have to be told?

Yes, considering how much it costs them compared with using rechargeables...

What on earth do people do with, say, 14 packs of 8 batteries?
buckmr2
13 Feb 16#26
Called into the atore to collect these and they also had an expiry Jan 16 so rejected them.Got refund after refusing them even when the manager offered them to me for only 39p per pack.He said they'd had to get them in which I said was odd as there were the last 14 packs they had at that branch when I paid for them. Some of the packs were opened with the odd battery missing too.He said he never knew they were out of date.

×#$%...thought these were rechargeables

As I've already said, they will work but their capacity will be reduced because they all self-discharge slowly.
All the stress this is causing - why don't you just use rechargeables? Instead of going out and buying new ones you just charge them up again and you save yourself a packet in the process.

i also bought the last 12 packs from my local store last night. all of them says 'use before 01/16', went back to the store and queried about that, the staff told me as long as the batteries were sealed they should be OK, or alternatively i can return them within 30 days if any problem. but i said there were 96 batteries in total, how could i find out whether they were faulty or not in 30 days?
so my question is, are these batteries still OK to use after their expiry date?

Think I'll pass on stocking up if they're out of date. Good effort Screwfix

Yep, use by 01/16.

Not A word was said
I live within a stones throw of their store. So I could take them back but they appear to be working. So I'll just put it down to experience, but I do agree, they should point this out to customers that the batteries have passed their expiry date. Thankfully I only bought a few packs. I'd be gutted if I had bought a whole load of these.

Odd - I'd have thought that Screwfix would have been under an obligation to tell you that these are expired, so they will be partially discharged already.

Great alternative to all those nonsensical batteries out there. Heat.

But nonsensical compared with rechargeables. Even ignoring the environmental considerations and just concentrating on the financial aspect, it's mad to buy disposable batteries for nearly every application in this day and age, considering that they are equivalent to buying disposabes for a couple of pennies each.

Worth checking the expiry date on these if you buy in store. I went for some a few weeks back and noticed they expired Dec 2015. They had loads of packs and after checking, they were all the same.
Just a heads up.
