Not the first re-release, they released fire red and leaf green in 2004 which were updated versions.

Same here. Square Enix ported FFVII to iOS and it's selling for £11. Not sure why Nintendo can't see the potential it can get. I would pay around that mark if they ever port it over in iOS with trading compatibility.

From what I hear the graphics are the same as when they re-released it a 2nd time, basically Fire Red/Leaf Green etc graphics. Definitely won't original one as thats too outdated. But you're able to trade online now without those pesky link cables lol

Such a shame Nintendo won't release these old remakes on iOS or Android. Nintendo is known for handheld gaming so mobile gaming will seriously make alot of profit as there are thousands of old loyal fans who would love this.

For the same proce you get less and its from game. I'd avoid them at all costs unless you've got game vouchers.

Is this actually the original pokemon games ported to 2ds?

I'm guessing the blue/red/yellow game that comes with won't work with any of the later games for trades etc?

I haven't had a Nintendo Handheld since the Gameboy Advance SP, Do you think It be worth getting one for the original Pokemon feels?

Is this a Nintendo store exclusive? Or will they be sold at retail in the UK? I have a little over £50 in Game vouchers and I was planning on going to pick up a 2DS soon. However I would love that yellow one and I don't mind waiting a month. Providing GAME sells them.

Yeah more than a regular but regulars arent desirable, just as nintendo ds lite special editions never held the expected value. Im only trying to save people from wrongly investing.

Jco japanese are far less collectable. Pal are the most sought after nintendo items. Pal au to be correct.

As an avid collector i have to laugh at those thinking these are an investment.
1. They wont come sealed, collectors only want sealed items. Nintendo stopped sealing collector consoles a while ago. True collectors also only want red seal strips such as those found pre 2007z
2. The 2ds console is a generic console with no imprints or transfers to set them apart. They are essentially a 2ds with a nice box, this will not make prices rise to an avid collector.
3. For £240, the price of all 3- you are half way to buying a sealed pokemon yellow blue or red for the original gameboy, things that will actually increase in value ten fold.
I hate to be that guy but unless you are a collector or fan, dont be that guy on ebay selling pre orders for these for £130 a piece because they will dip in a few months. The only thing of value is the box but any true collector willing to pay money already has the original boxes mint or sealed and would have pre ordered these.

In short- ultimately these are no different than the 3ds xl bundles with x and y that game is selling off for £99 in the sale. Not a sound investment as its a contemporary spin on an old franchise. If they included physical copies it would be a different story.The fact that they are 2ds' with pre installed software really contributes to the matter.

FYI - 2ds/3ds are totally region locked so you will be stuck with a japanese/chinese 2ds with access to the japanese store only.

Just see the 2DS as a clumsy, retro looking, inflexible and badly made unit this was only produced to please the health & safety brigade. The calendar is nice though!

I pre ordered yesterday. Went pikachu yellow. Currently trying to shift my black n blue one on gumtree to help cover the cost.

Don't mind the special editions (Pokemon/Zelda/Nes) not too fussed about others.
Can see them holding their value though; although I haven't been able to find out how many are for sale or if they're limited.

Ordered the yellow one yesterday with the pikachu case. I think I spent in the hundreds of hours playing Pokemon yellow as a kid. Thought it was neat and I like that the yellow one is more see-through than the other two.
