For anyone that routinely buys Nikwax Tech Wash - lookout for DP Liquid Soap Flakes. Stocked in larger Tesco stores. A cheaper alternative that's just as good.
Happy to answer any reproofing queries - did it daily in a former life...

Soap flakes are quite gentle.
Does N.W. put the waterproofing inside out so a jacket stops wicking away sweat?

You can also get it in Waitrose (more easily).

Tech Wash is effectively just liquid soap.
Grangers do a better washing product that is actually a technical detergent. Wash called "30 degree cleaner" last I looked. Better than Nikwax but I'd still stick with Liquid Soap Flakes.
There's no need to worry about proofing the inner. The way GoreTex, HyVent, AQ2 etc work it makes no difference. Unless the waterproof garment has a soft to touch inside (like some ski jackets) then don't worry. If the garment does, then use a spray on. This is better on ski jackets anyway as you can conventrate on the high abraison areas, shoulders and arms.
On a side note, the proofers that instruct you to tumble dry (Grangers 2 in 1 for example) give a better finish.
Nikwax just have better marketing!

So the soap flakes from Tesco, to wash and then either or of the other 2 products. I went for the Nik Wash etc last time large bottles because the granger said about tumble drier. I don't have a tumble dryer will the granger still work if the coat is hung in a warm conservatory??

Yes, if you can't tumble dry then Nikwax is best.

Im only familiar with the Dri Pak Liquid Soap Flakes but as long as the Tesco Soap Flakes don't contain detergents, perfumes or softeners it's probably the same.
