I'll bite when it's £14.99 or less but since Nintendo hasn't added more content to the game there's little reason to get it.

Yeah I had been looking at this on Amazon but the reviews put me off. I love tennis games though so I'm still tempted

The only bad Mario Tennis game that exists is the Virtual Boy one and that's because.. Virtual Boy!

Just tried playing it on the emulator and the tennis ball keeps going through the racket. Plus, this Mario Tennis isn't really much fun. :-/

As someone who owns this, I don't think I could recommend it yet at this price. The amiibo function should have been scanning a plethora of figures and playing as them in increasingly bigger tournaments and building up a ranking... Can't fault the gameplay (okay I can, your amiibo partner often hits the ball right at you - if they were going to do this they should have implemented a duck manouver, which might have been fun), but I've played it 3 times max.

Worth knowing, thanks man. I miss the GameCube days where game 'collecting' wasn't a thing and you'd pick up loads of stuff like this for about a tenner. Might bite at 15, def bite if it ever drops to a tenner

I'd hold out for it to drop a little lower. genuinely can't believe how little content there is in this game - think Splatoon on launch day

the game is a bit short on content, and the gimmick modes are very swallow and you would play the simple mode in less than 24hs.
that being said if you like tennis games the gameplay is quite solid, online is not very populated but you can spend an afternoon playing with people. at this price being a mario game is a stealt

Better off buying Mario Power Tennis (Wii or GameCube) which is cheaper, has more content and so its replay value will last for ages. I've seen the gameplay and in that regard it looks fine but the animation is exactly the same for every single one of them which honestly gets tiresome as there's no variety.

Mario Tennis on 3DS is probably better, it has a few different game modes and is not perfect but quite playable and fun. Often available for £10-12ish NEW too. Admittedly have not played Wii U game) but like you have read bad reviews and about it being rushed out, and references and comparisons to ET Atari 2600 on here can never be good (off topic link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-35560458 )
I am still finding it hard to buy this game for my kid at this price! Think I will wait for a £15 deal like gamer-u.
