Very surprised this is hotter.

bit misleading as this isn't really a 4k tv. it's something to do with the way LG arrange their RGB elements of their sub-pixels (user RGBW rather than RGB) and this end up with there being about half the addressable pixel of a true 4k tv.

anyway was looking as need to update soon as my current LG is finally giving up, don't upgrade very often so wanted to be sure of a good buy not just a cheap price.

Still not a worthy successor to my my LG 47" then,I did have a 2015 Hisense 50" model at Christmas for £420 and it easily out shined my LG but sadly i had to return it as it had bad light bleeding down both sides.The only noticeable thing that it lacked from my LG was that it did not have a AV MODE on the remote control to change picture modes more quickly than going into the menu.

so, fake 4k are in the market already. Cannot even be used as a monitor then

do not forget that LG used to be called GOLDSTAR. Even Hisense and Techwood sound nicer, lol

So how do you know if a particular model of 4K TV is a faux K TV?

None of them are true 4k. Its just under 4 million pixels. But even less programs support it anyway. Maybe PC gaming and a few netflix programs . Not much else. 3840 pixels to be exact.

Those of you buying these for your consoles , just be aware that the Ps4 and Xbone barely even handle 1080 . The image does get some upscaling but its no way 4k. You'd need a top spec PC GFX card to support that.

I had bought this TV from RGB direct before xmas and its a stunner! Great interface. Cool little Wiimote style control and the picture is crisp , blacks as black as the ace of spades. You wouldn't regret it.
