Kingston's KHX18C10T2K4/16 is a kit of four 512M x 64-bit (4GB) DDR3-1866 CL10 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) 1Rx8 memory modules, based on eight 512M x 8-bit DDR3 FBGA components per module. Each module kit supports Intel XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles). Total kit capacity is 16GB. Each module kit has been tested to run at DDR3-1866 at a low latency timing of 10-11-10 at 1.5V. The SPDs are programmed to JEDEC standard latency DDR3-1600 timing of 11-11-11 at 1.5V. Each 240-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +1.5V.
Main Features:
JEDEC standard 1.5V (1.425V ~ 1.575V) Power Supply
VDDQ = 1.5V (1.425V ~ 1.575V)
800MHz fCK for 1600Mb/sec/pin
8 independent internal bank
Programmable CAS Latency: 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6
Programmable Additive Latency: 0, CL - 2, or CL - 1 clock
8-bit pre-fetch
Burst Length: 8 (Interleave without any limit, sequential with starting address '000' only), 4 with tCCD = 4 which does not allow seamless read or write [either on the fly using A12 or MRS]
Bi-directional Differential Data Strobe
Internal(self) calibration : Internal self calibration through ZQ pin (RZQ : 240 ohm ± 1%)
On Die Termination using ODT pin
Average Refresh Period 7.8us at lower than TCASE 85°C, 3.9us at 85°C < TCASE < 95°
Asynchronous Reset
PCB : Height 2.122 inch (53.90mm) w/ heatsink, single sided component

Looks like a fairly high profile module, any clearance issues?

Having not realised I could run my triple channel X58 in dual channel mode I have just bought this to take me from 6GB to 16GB.

I think they will still run in 3 channels, look at your manual which slot you should use. If it does not say nothing, try with the cpu-z for help until it will give the 3 channel set up. I know some motherboard would do it but not sure if all but I do not see why not.

It's triple I'm trying to avoid as I would lose the 4th stick. Technically I could run 3 with my original 6GB for 18GB in triple but that leaves me with the spare stick, and the timings are different.

if you use 4 slots, many MB's if not all would still do 3 channels and you make use of the full 16gb. Try on different slots and check with the cpuz to confirm that you might be able to get the 3 channels with 4 sticks. going to test my gigabyte MB soon and confirm. Never run different ram together, if they run ok does not mean that you getting the best speeds etc...
It looks like you have 3 sticks of 2gb there so I would say you are guaranteed to benefit when going from 6Gb to 16Gb of RAM, but as always, how great the benefit is depends on what you use your system for.
I haven't built a system with less than 8Gb of RAM for 10 years

I only do light gaming like Cities Sky Lines & The Sms 4.
Some video editing to.
Next thing to buy is the SDD which fits to my motherboard.

Will I notice much difference now I have ordered this and I might put my old ram on ebay?
