I got the K700 58 inch version. it is a great TV fares better than any Samsung LG Sony Panasonic of the same price bracket. there is no light bleed or banding/clouding that the big brand seems to suffer on their low to mid budget TV. and the local dimming on this really works. not sure the K700 is hisense's current top range but it is a premium display. also it offers complete tunable controls on picture settings so you can get the TV fully calibrated. this is meant to be a wide garmut as well. the sound from my 58 is excellent also very powerful @ 20% it is really loud already and the surround sound is freaking amazing. so anyone thinks Hisense is a rubbish name really need to do their research. they had bigger stands in CES than Samsung/LG/Sony. they may be the third largest TV producer in the world but don't quote me on that.

I'm after a 65" 3D TV and was thinking Samsung JS900 at the eye watering price of £2,400.
I like the Samsung as it seems to be able to play any file format you throw at it, but really tempted by this.
What's the attraction of the K720?

I wouldnt mind knowing the attraction of the K720 over this tv?
Is the K720 curved rather than flat?

You need to look for a Passive 4K 3D TV not this active 3D one. I'm looking for the same. active 3D in 4K has no benefit over current active HD 3D.

I saw these at CES, they had a seriously large stand. I have to say though out of all the TVs on show the order for me would be
LG (but I like 3D and their passive 3D blew my mind on the 4k)
Sony (the new X series is amazing)
Samsung/Hisense
Panasonic
This though is a hot price for the TV

As mentioned above, the K720 is FALD which gives stunning blacks and at this price range is pretty much unheard of, it is also curved which initially I didn't think I would like, but then after having the 65K720 for a few weeks I really like it, almost feels like there is better perspective than the 55inch flat that it replaced. The K720 doesn't have 3D though.

I'll have to pop in again because they told me that they don't stock this particular model.
Yes but that can be said of anything you buy, I see more dud cheap TVs than any of the major brands.

the 720 is FALD. it has more zones for dimming so in theory better screen uniformity and black levels.
i have the 58" k700 and previously had the sony x8509 and panasonic 700 both of which went back due to issues.
this tv is pretty good, the smart system isnt as good as major brands but picture quality is very good.

I have 58 inch version of this telly and 60 inch samsung, after calibration Hisense looks way better then out of the box samsung (which also benefit from calibration) I back my comments with experience and Im not biased if I see chinese brand, I think you are dazzled by big brands not quality

works very well - I needed a centre foot rather than two feet at the sides, as my table isn't wide enough for that.

There's just as high a chance the Sony or Samsung unit you order is a dud. These are cheap, but not lower quality...

Hisense is not just a cheap Chinese brand. They actually produce fantastic tv's. I've got the 55" 720 and it's an amazing bit of kit. The blacks are ink like and the 4K looks stunning with localised dimming. Reviews are not poor at all. Hisense is one of the biggest manufacturers of tv's in the world but have only recently launched in the uk.

And yet I am using one right now and it is very good. I have seen £2,000 sets in Currys that look abysmal because of the feed. A 10 minute look in a retail store really should not be the sole decider.

Absolute tosh!!
Your crazy ill informed statement not Hisense TV's. They are amazing and as good as if not better than any branded TV for twice the price!
I was dubious but after taking the plunge am amazed at the quality.
John Lewis online price matched it for me and a bunch of other people, that's worth it for the warranty in my opinion.
It's an absolutely fantastic TV for the price. The Opera TV OS runs very slowly though, so I'd highly recommend an external streaming box.
Netflix in UHD looks great.
Not sure why OP mentions iPlayer, at least my TV doesn't have it (we've been promised an update end of December, then end of January, then end of February, to add iPlayer+Amazon Prime Video...).
