After seeing a post for shelfs at £16.99 by TOOLMAX, which is a decent price, I thought I'd share the shelves I bought last week.
I used reserve and collect from Homebase and these cost £14.99. I've assembled them and they're good for 15 quid. No need for screws or anything, except for the final bracket to hold it against the wall. I've used these in my shed and placed toolboxes, and several other items.
Also, claim 500 nectar points once you've scanned your card at the till. (Thanks to Jase79 for the info)

Don't forget 500 nectar points from the nectar website when you load it to your card.

No way you could put that in the garden - it would be gone when the first strong wind got up.

You're right it may be "gone with the wind" if you didn't secure it using the suggested equipment (wall brackets included in the package). But if you have items on it, which would be weighing it down, plus the brackets to secure it, I think it'd be absolutely fine.
Mine is set up in the shed and is perfectly suitable to hold my toolboxes, paintcans and garden equipment.

Is this likely to be made of quite lightweight materials?

This is pretty lightweight but once set up I've found it to be secure and capable of holding the suggested amount it offers. For £14.99 you're getting a shelving product that does what it's expected

easy to assemble, though not taking a great deal of weight, got a few of em, one have bottles of oil on, and still bowing even with 6mm ply on the shelves...
